Zeroing in On Pakistan

The zealous who could show such a proficient command and courage in their execution of task; especially the show of their endurance and ability to put up a fight for a cause that they believe till their last bullet and last breath. Is this just some cynical back handed compliment or a trap being set once again to blame Pakistan for another 9/11?
While the entire Pak Army and its command is concentrating on its reek miasma of FATA to clear some pockets infested with home grown traitors like Tehrik e Taliban (TTP is a cancer induced by CIA to work as mercenary for them); In which Pakistan believes that prevalent instability created by TTP especially in FATA area amounts to softening up of future battle grounds for US lead forces to move in side Pakistan on the pretext to quell terror and mop up the dens. But this is known fact that recent successes of Pak Army in their mission in FATA have not gone well with U.S.
After the humiliating and provoking drone attacks in FATA to instigate the locals; now the blame game to draw in Pakistan in Mumbai massacre, will certainly make the Pakistan eastern borders volatile. Perforce this will induce a thinning out of Pak Armed forces from western Frontiers and will also tend n divert the Pak armed forces attention toward new threat from Indian Border. Mumbai mellow drama is prelude to escalation of clashes on Pak eastern borders, where invariably India will move her bulk of forces up on the borders to threaten Pakistan’s security.
History shows that U.S and western forces are the warriors of depleted and forsaken lands and may not advance into the lands, where they may face any potent resistance. In second Gulf war US lead forces did not move in Iraq till Mr Han Blix, Chief UN weapon Inspector had not categorically confirmed that there were no scud missiles left or any weapon of mass destruction found in Iraq. With the escalated situation on Pakistan eastern borders the western border will obviously have a reduced presence of Pak Army. Beefing up and increase of vigilante on Eastern border will make the western frontiers depleted and more vulnerable. Over all Pak Army may find it self engaged at both the fronts.
Last night. I came across a picture of New York Times- Photo gallery with a caption which speak volumes to grasp an insight of US forces future plans as well as their willy-nilly exercise of right to carry out attack and engage targets of their choice in side Pakistan. The Caption says: “Pakistani tanks firing toward militant positions in the village of Sabagai, in the Bajaur tribal region on the Afghanistan border. Pakistan is battling attacks by militants from Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Most of them are based in the rugged and lawless tribal region next to Afghanistan, where American and NATO forces are fighting an increasingly tenacious Islamist insurgency.” The last sentence is most intriguing giving an insight of U.S future plans to engage the target at their whims and will.
On the other hand once again the western media has started with its vindictive warnings that Al Qaeda plans for new terrorist attack on US shores are accelerating: Iran is recruiting homicide bombers to attack the US. Britain is becoming a staging area for al Qaeda. Arab press is reporting that Osama Bin Laden was planning an attack that would dwarf 9/11. These are all headlines from the last few weeks. Times of London had previously says that both British and US Homeland security have warned President-elect Barack Obama that there is a HUGE threat of a spectacular Al Qaeda attack during the U. S. Presidential transition.
Lord West of Spithead, the UK Home Office Security Minister also spoke recently of a “huge threat”; saying, “There is another great plot building up again and we are monitoring this.” Very conveniently there has been a direct implication staged in Mumbai drama that seven out of ten Terrorist who under took the attack in Mumbai are British-Pakistani Muslims from Northern England specifically from area like Bradford and Leeds. UK news papers are full of headlines with the claims that a number of young British Muslims with roots in Pakistan have been responsible for terrorist attacks, both in Britain and abroad.
A finally of war on terrorism seems approaching fast… . This time, US may NOT ask the country like Pakistan;…”are you with us or against us” because the target this time is Pakistan itself. Israel may also be brought in. Mumbai like drama may also be orchestrated at the cost of some fatal causalities in Tel Aviv and Pakistan along with Al Qaeda implicated in it.
Lets close all the old and opened chapters. Some bad times are ahead. We as a nation need to forge unity within our ranks and rise to these new threats!! This nation ought to stand behind its Armed Forces as a solid lead molten wall. We must know that the border lines; May they be country border or ideology border lines; only the sprinkling of blood on the borders lines keeps them live and give them a fresh colour. By Allah’s Grace; Pakistan armed forces and this nation is ready for any such eventuality. All the Pakistanis are well aware that this a time that; Lahoo mangtee hay zameen e wattan.

Mr A Khokar, Sir, how do you think this speculative article (I must admit it’s speculation par excellence) is of any help except creating more confusion. Frankly, I always considered you a friend of Pakistan; please, be honest what is it that really motivates your such negative propaganda which obviously distresses the ordinary Pakistani citizens. How come, all of a sudden all the ‘jihadi outfits’ ,that we have all over the country, have turned into ‘angels’ of love and peace ? Is there any denying that we have no dearth of such extremist organizations who have, in the past, had the rare ‘honor and pleasure’ of hurting us without any remorse or hesitation. Tell me you are not trying to get even with us for whatever you consider maltreatment meted out to you as a community in Pakistan. I am not really angry here, but still would greatly appreciate your frank feed back on your own agenda. You might want to explain what is that you mean by, “Lahoo mangtee hay zameen e wattan”. Are you recommending enmasse conversion to ‘jihadism’? I sincerely hope not.

We cannot face india in military terms,economic terms,
we may repeal an attack maybe hold indians at the border for say 10-15 days we cannot finance a war at a long scale in the end the only deterrent pakistan has is the nuclear weapon

The assault on the unsuspecting city of Mumbai, India’s business centre and of course the focal point of its film industry comes as the peace process between the two sides was warming up. Just days before Pakistan’s president had made a daring set of offers to India. But the terrorist scourge goes beyond this effort at reaching greater accord. It is today the biggest threat to the security and sovereignty of Pakistan itself. While terrorists still lurk in our hills, they will indeed be drone attacks by the US; when it is alleged ships carrying loads of ammunition for militants set sail from our shores there will be attributions of blame. There is no escape from this.
The question is what we, as a nation, can do to alter this situation and save ourselves. Too much time has already been lost. The costs — to reputation, to investment, to the welfare of the country have been immense. Pakistanis struggle to obtain visas; colleges overseas hesitate to admit students for fear that they are terrorists. People who are entirely innocent suffer. So, what is to be done? In the first place Pakistan must remind its western allies that, once upon a time, it played an active part in building the extremist networks that have now established deep roots in our country. Powerful elements inside Pakistan of course assisted them and backed their cause through the decades, for reasons both strategic and ideological. Today, we must find the strength to beat them back. For this we must urge the US and other powers to help us. We must show true zeal, commitment and purpose. There is no alternative. You may find that Pakistanis after bracing a long dark era are currently in search of a Leader, a Messiah for them. But this nation is a very resilient nation. They are the notch above the rest because they don’t carry any malicious agenda against any one in the world except offering them peace and good will. It may help you under stand that how and why this Mumbai Massacre is orchestrated to bury the stunning evidences of savagery of a ‘coup’ to grab the power in the centre of India. The city of Mumbai is explosive. But every time there is a terrorist attack, the metropolis is gripped by a kind of fear psychosis. The attack on “A Wednesday” (what a morbid coincidence!), proved yet again that the so-called “courageous” and “resilient”
Mumbaikar is rapidly getting used to mayhem and murder. That is not a reflection of courage or of collective sanity, but of the desensitization of the mass mind.
That the terrorist attack took place just when the media was full of stories of “saffron terrorism” may be a coincidence, but the killing of Hemant Karkare, the chief of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), gives the event an anti-climactic turn. The Sangh Parivar and the Shiv Sena had gone to town for almost a month, aggressively campaigning against the ATS and virtually running a propaganda drive to condemn Karkare
as an anti-Hindu and anti-national officer. Karkare was known for his upright character and courage, as well as for his patriotism. With his long experience in RAW, he strongly believed that terrorism has no colour and creed. He worked tirelessly, and arrested those who were engaged in terrorist acts, irrespective of faith. As long as the suspects arrested were Muslims, he received applause. But the moment he caught extremist Hindus, and collected evidence against them, he
became a villain in the eyes of the Sangh Parivar and the Sena.
Now that he has lost his life fighting the terrorists — who are believed to be part of the global Taliban-ISI-Al Qaeda network — the sinister campaign against him has turned on its head. Karkare had monitored international terrorist operations and was following the threads of the groups who were also working against the Pakistani state. The tragedy is that along with him, two other brave very senior police officers, Ashok Kamte and Vijay Salaskar, have also been killed by the terrorists.

Unfortunately Pakstan has most hostile (makkar) neighbour (in the form of India) in the whole world, any country could possibly have in her neighbour.
india never misses a chance to involve Pakistan on any small or big terrorist activities in india by false accusations and hypothetical analysis of their media and politicians but poor indians has never proved their poits by providing any concrete evidences.
In almost all of the cases, their own people find involved in these terrorist activities whenever a thorough investigation tool place for eg., chattisgarh incident during Clinton visit to india when 36 hindus were massacred, ram yatra in indian occupied Kashmir when CRPF killed 47 yatris and the incident of indian parliament attack, where Nirmla desh pande (late member of Rajyia Sabha) acknowledges that the 3 persons indicted were falsely charged as Pakistani attackers and the list goes on
The irony is the so called independent (western ) media is propagating the indian version of stories without analysing the whole scenario sensibly or showing any concrete evidence of Pakistan involvement in this terror attack but ripping off their own commitment to any kind of professionalism and ethics. This so called independent media is toally biased, partial and fully prejudiced media.
I think, officers of indian army might involved in these terrorists attack. indian govt. should grill hard the arrested Lt.Col who was involved in malegaon and samjhota express terrorist attacks.
This is ridiculuos that we (Pakistan) have an indian terrorist in our jail (who actually has confessed his crime); waiting to be hanged and it was also proved high oficials of indian army are involved in terrorist activities but indian govt are blaming Pakistan for everything.
They should change their thinking at least now and concentrate thier own indigenously produced terrorist outfits. The people of india must understand this double policy of their govt.
The govt. of Pakistan must not keep the criminal silence on this indian blame game and come forward with a befittiing reply to indian’s false accusations, who never miss any chance to bring bad name to Pakistan on international level.

I am really surprised. Aftab; as I said; it’s time to close all the old chapters. This world in our region has taken a real turn. You need to up date yourself. The evil forces are all out to attack Pakistan from west as well as from the East. To Press it so hard that it disappear in thin airs.
But you know how the towering heights of Himalaya came in to being. When two tectonic plates i.e. northern margin of Indian plate and Eurasian plate collided; rather than buckling or delving under; this land of our choose most dramatically reaction and under that pressure erupted up ward and lifting it and creating the Himalayas and the Tibetan Plateau and beyond.
Pakistan is a God gifted country. All Pakistani drink the water of same Himalayas. Islam is our faith and Allah is our Guardian and wallie.

The world scenario in this region has taken a real turn. Erroneously Pakistan is being implicated in the savage massacre of Mumbai which is the doing of the indigenous dissidents of India. Previously the world called upon Pakistan to come up and serve the International cause; earlier to help partake against Soviet union invasion of Afghanistan and lately to act as front state in Global war fare excursions against terrorism. On both the occasion Pakistan has done its duties in good faith, in true letter and spirit but Pakistan has always been misused and misquoted.
Pakistan is the only Islamic country with its potent armed forces as well as nuclear arsenals. These capacities resting with Pakistan do not go well with the oppressors operating in the area with their preying eyes to grab the future economic mineral resources of the region. They consider Pakistan a hurdle and a matter of contention for them. The evil forces have joined hands in this region and are all out to attack Pakistan from west as well as from the East. They want to Press Pakistan so hard that it disappears in thin airs.(God forbid)

I have lot of hesitation buying all these consipiracy theories; I also have problem with ‘persecution mania’. I just find it difficult to believe, considering our own track record, that this whole world has set up a big trap for us to just fall into. I suppose, I lack the ‘wisdom’ which is so in abundance in my country.
I have pretty simple, almost single track mind, which suggests that we are victims of our own homegrown intigues. Pakistan is being distracted from peace negotiations so that the bulk of our forces can not be relocated to fight with the ‘jihadists’. Some vested interest just do not wish to see any peace for they fear their own existence in jeopardy, once, we are allowed and can concentrate on eliminating them. However, mine is purely based on what you have implied ‘outdated’ knowledge. Perhaps the good thing is that I am not in a position of influencing any course of action, otherwise mine would have been, total elimination of all the forces of terrorism from Pakistan. Settle the isuuses with India peacefully and get on with the work of improvement the lives of our people. I am not guided by such examples of geographical phenomenen; history of Pakistan is 61 years and it must have taken millions of years of geographical evolution for Himalayas to take the form it has. As far as Allah being guardian is concerned, my belief is that He is ‘Beniaz’ and above our day to day affairs. He is the creator of the rest of the world, too. Why would He wish to destroy the rest of the world for our sake, I fail to justify or even expect Him to be so partial, after all He is the “Rab Ul Aalameen”.

From your prescribed logic one may perceive that we must not talk about the safety security of Pakistan because it offends others. We need not to strive for our country because it is infested with many, many follies. We should not demand from the jawans of our armed forces to lay their lives for this country on its borders; because no one else in Pakistan is striving… so why they should do so.
Our enemies; who would love to see us going in to thin airs; will they ever like to see you flourishing? I don’t think so. US lead forces are knocking at our doors. They have come here from very far. India is trying to escalate the war on our eastern borders. Should we sit with ease in our cozy houses; just talk,talk-talk and sip qawa.
It is agreed that we had grown some savage traitors among us; but our Armed forces are dealing with that. But after this cancerous ailment is removed; then what next? We have to defend atleast…what we have got.
This world is made for the survival of the fittest only. God has kept this in the nature for all the inhabitation including human. Muslim or no Muslim; this is God’s dictates and design ( Sunat Allah) which never changes. Presently; it is era of people possessing the abilities to innovate and who can lay hand on the economic mineral resources. So we have to stream lined our dreams accordingly.

I think Its high time Pakistan Citizen put pressure on their Establishment to end this “anit india” violence campaign which has its roots way back in history with Indo-Pak 71 war and creation of Bangladesh. This proxy way was supported by ISI and govt but these elements are out of control of Pakistan govt and surviving with support of some elements within govt.
Pakistan future is in its People’s hand. Whole world can not be lying. True pakistan is center of terrorism now for world and its high time some concrete measures are taken by govt and pakistan people before its too late and they are in situations similar to Afganistan.
Note that Pakistan people may want peace with india and may not be supporting such acts. But unless you accept fact that pakistan can do sometime to help india and world and get out of denial mode - nothing will happen. God bless India & pakistan
