Zardari Ends Up with Egg on Face: Supreme Court Rules
By Maria Sultan • Feb 13th, 2010 • Category: Politics • 5 CommentsPakistan’s esteemed and greatest judiciary has once again proved its mettle, when it overruled and suspended the wayward appointments of civilian dictator of Pakistan.
Pakistan’s judiciary is free and they have shown that now no one will be able to play with the justice and people of this country. They have shown that judges are there to do justice and not to kowtow the line of government. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s companion have remained steadfast and solid.
President Asif Ali Zardari elevated Justice Khwaja Sharif as SC judge and Justice Saqib Nisar as Acting CJ of LHC through an official notification. However, Justice Khwaja Sharif and Justice Saqib Nisar refused to accept the decision of the government, and now special bench of Supreme Court headed by Justice Shakirullah Jan has decreed that the decision by government is null and void.
Long Live Judiciary.

Corrupt Chief Judge is trying to save his back, by ganging up against the elected President of Pakistan.
Independent judiciary ! Why not sou moto on army Dictator Rule? Where are THE missing persons Case? Why not Bugti case? These are the bigger cases in media. What about every day RAPE cases and then Lawyers are getting bribe for lower court judges?
How many cases he has for his fellow corrupt judges who are as corrupt as him? This corrupt judge is taking the country to no Return and another Army Rule?

@ author ( I will just repeat my comment from another post)
“A” President doing his job
VS
“A” Chief Justice not liking his decision.
Forget who is who for a moment and tell me who is right and who is wrong ?
It is very interesting situation, on one side President Zardari wants to appoint senior most HC judge in Supreme Court, while Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary wants to appoint a junior judge, who is his personal friend, and to retain Justice Sharif in Lahore, who is a PML-N loyalist. Why? Who is pushing the country to anarchy? Zardari/Gillani or Iftikhar Ch? Zardari wants to follow the rule of law while Iftikhar wants to give favor to his friend.I respect order of Mr. President about judges’ placement. Judiciary is doing wrong thing by creating environment of confrontation.A consultation took place between the two highest functionaries of state. The president’s spokesperson asserts that the consultation took place and is denied vehemently by the honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan.he was the same CJ who on the fateful day of March 9, 2007 bragged in front of former chairman FBR Abdullah Yousaf that he is going to Chief (Pervez Musharraf) and discuss the idea of dissolving the then NA and provincial assemblies and hand over the interim rule to Superior Judiciary to purge the politics of corrupt people and to initiate across the board accountability.

But for the matter of law who is right in the above case ?
