Your Feedback Plz: User Registration at TPS
By The Pakistani Spectator • Nov 19th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 16 CommentsThe comments and articles are free at TPS without any sort of restrictions and TPS cherishes this liberty and intends to carry it on. But due to high load of spam, obnoxious comments and unwanted inbound spamming links we are pondering upon a proposal to introduce user registration system at TPS. According to this system, everything will remain same, just with an addition that anyone with a desire to comment would have to register first and then he or she will be free to comment freely without any deletion or edition on our part. This way, we would be able to maintain and manage your comments more easily and efficiently.
We would like your kind feedback on this urgently as whether should we introduce this registration system or not.
Thanks.
TPS Team

how to register?
I think its a good idea, it will filter out the junkies to some extent
I am all for it. It is needed here for sure.
Great idea go ahead Help to get rid of unedited garbage mail Thanks
Sounds good, go ahead. Good luck and many thanks for your services
At this moment I will not recommend such actions as such kind of attitude that you mentioned is indicator of trends of society. We have to see and reply this -ve attitude with patience and + attitude. The people who come in this forum should have to manage their limits by them selves as most of them belong to so called literate class of our society who can come on such forums.if they see they can manage and bear the seriousness of this forum , they would stay and opt themselves to retreat back as per their personal likes and dislikes. We have to prove this forum as open for all and free of all kinds of bias and discrimination.
Nazia has a point but please suggest a way to place a check ,
SORRY FOR USING YOUR NAME NAZIA BUT IT WAS NECESSARY TO SHOW MY POINT
: MUHAMMAD ALI SAJJAD
I totally agree with Nazia but I think the registration system wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
comment no 7 please change yours identity as it is confusing that two people are using same name.Sorry for this request as I have been using this idenity for last 8 months.
for Nazia
this what i am trying to tell that without registration anyone can use any name , and the reader wont be able to tell the difference,
however, the readers should have a free access to post their comments, like nazia said in comment 6
no offence ment by using nazia’s id, only demonstrating what i mean
The final solution is: registration should be optional, so the regular users can be differentiated from the one timers. this way no one can steal ids like i did in comment number 7
Blogging in our country is certainly in introductory stage. In order to expect free but responsible comments from the participants; member should not hesitate to get themselves registered. All the popular blogs they all have the registration and people do feel honour to be a member of a blog like we have; TPS. This must also earn a good rating for our Candid Blog also other wise it amounts to ‘fly posting’.
I must request all the regular members to please have their registration done. This does reduce the possibility of attacks from spasm also. I my self am victim of this and I know that spam guard does cost money.
All the comments may also carry the heading; like
1. Join the conversation for the sharpest writing, the liveliest debate.
2. In order to post a comment you need to be registered and signed in.
Register | Sign in
The visitors may also be requested to ‘Recommend’ or ‘Report abuse’.
touchy fellow ……..poor Sargam Gia
I also oppose this option because it will decrease inflow of value commentors. I am also victim of this spam controller. Using different ID for ending comment.
