Without Balochistan, We are Nothing

People in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi simply don’t have any idea about the grave and fulminating situaiton in the most vast province of Pakistan. Things are about to go out of control in the Balochistan and yet there is no sense of urgency on the part of the government. Some political parties have carried out rallies in Karachi and Lahore as a token gesture, but even then they have failed to do anything solid and worthwhile.

The horrendous and extermly condemnable assassination of three Baloch Nationalist leaders in Turbat has paralysed and crippled not only the routine life in Balochistan but it has also affected deeply all other provinces. May be the effects on other provinces many not be visible that much, but the truth is that they are very forceful. These killings have once again raised many questions about the provincial autonomy as was envisaged in the 1973 constitution. This has also exposed the acute and sheer poverty of other provinces and it has asked many tough questions from the Islamabad.

At this alarming crossroads when the Pakistan  is already facing a lot of crises on various fronts in all the other provinces and there is no governance at all anywhere in the country, these killings have increased the intensity of deprivation and isolation in Balochistan. Only public punishment of the killers could appease the Balochistan right now. No matter who they are.

  1. what is fulminating fatima?? Over all the content is good and I share the concern ! please keep us posted!

  2. People of Karachi did what they could. What else we can do ? Major political should play their role to resolve Balochistan situation, they should fulfill promises they made with Balochis.

  3. one good thing that resulted from this is the weakening of the feudal structure as warlord famillies divided on political basis(e.g the Bugtis).however, the major negative impact has been the decrease of the confidence in the federal system of the Balochis.

  4. one good thing that resulted from this is the weakening of the feudal structure as warlord famillies divided on political basis(e.g the Bugtis).however, the major negative impact has been the decrease of the confidence in the federal system of the Balochis. You see,the Balochis have been under the sway of tradition for centuries and lack of education will not allow them to mentally desert the shackles of the feudal lords. One bad thing about provincial autonomy is that the leaders(who are the feudal lords)might not allow the growth of intellectualism and education within their province.
