Will Salary Doubling of Islamabad Police Stop Long March?

By Salman Mugsi • Mar 8th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 4 Comments

Police in all the provinces of the Pakistan is now angry with the lawyers that why didn’t they select to stage their sit-in and long march on their beat, because they have been deprived of the chance to get the double financial benefits.

In an urgent notification, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has doubled the salaries of the capital police, but…….

Yes, there is a ‘but’.  The salary of police in Islamabad will get double from 1st April, and not before that.

This is basically a carrot for the capital police. If they perform against the long march and sit-in of the lawyers and opposition parties, only then they will get the promised salary, otherwise they know that the Zardari doesn’t really care about promises and the accords and a notification can always be delayed, cancelled or altogther forgotten.
