Amna i really like the way you raise the issues for women rights ,the story u have narrated is very horrifying and i sympathise you for all what happened, such aquantace should be degraded at all level.
but please dont say that its only part of pakistani society and muslims are responsible. This is more prevalent in the west but their media is more responsible as far as their image in the world is concerned.
Its a social evil in every society and not just Pakistan.
Im afraid that you raise some noise with all your sincerity and it is being used by the western media against the pakistan and muslims for their vested interests.

i have to say one word ‘wow’ i just happened to find this article and the subject matter is not surprising at all!! being a girl myself and have lived in lahore i can definitely say this incident took place and what you write about girls being harassed/molested is true.I have to agree with “shahid” we are totally ignorant of islamic teachings and these things are just a byproduct of our “jahalat” I sincerely feel for you to have gone through this.May Allah protect you from such people and guide you out of these situations.As for the guy worldly punishment aside Allah sees all and he will be brought to justice as we all will be in our graves and day of judgement.

i respect what ever you say because i know its true, these are common problems and very awful.
i read someone talking about the solutions for these, dear brother/ister the solution is in our hands but we are not ready to use it, even you all are looking for the solution for these problems maybe respected sister amna is also yet trying to find out the solution, but still you will not dare to practice the solution.
if you think you can dare and you desperately want the solution , here it is “practice Islam” dont just talk about it.
Islam makes a community,again you may ask how it will end problems if only one person(i or aman or you) is practicing and all others are animals out there, ,, just ask me i will tell you , i can tell you if amna was really practicing islam she would not have atleast faced this situation. again ask me how, answer i will give you if you are intrested, i bet no one is intrested or very few are including amna.

Hi,
With the discussion quickly degenerating into man v woman here, i’d like to weigh in on a point.
This kind of stuff happens. This happens in the west, who go all high and mighty on us, and it happens HERE where we are to self righteous to admit it. but the problem here is the society. its not MUSLIM society or WESTERN society. Its society in general. The only solution to this is the creation of a balanced society. There are many cases of abuse by women. Although cases by men far outnumber them, but nonetheless, i think it is due to lack of opportunity. What needs to be done, is to create a healthy society. One that people RESPECT each other, regardless of any factor.
