Why Gilani Threatened Chief Justice?

By Rohail Butt • Feb 17th, 2010 • Category: Politics • 5 Comments

Truthfully speaking, the caliber of our Prime Minister is only suited to the district council politics and not beyond that. His handpicking by the cunning and lucky Asif Ali Zardari was for a reason, the same reason through which Gilani became the speaker of National Assembly during the era of late Benazir Bhutto.

Now the political clowns of every ilk and feather are bashing at the judiciary. To the surprise of many, the otherwise calm and reconciliatory premier has also warned the judiciary. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has opened another can of worms by declaring in the National Assembly that the executive order issued in March last year by the government for the restoration of pre-November 3 judges is yet to be endorsed by parliament.

This is not some sort of outburst or emotional fire, which was uttered unintentionally from the lips of the premier from Multan. This was calculated, well-judged and pre-planned statement aimed not only at the judiciary but also at the lawyers and the PML-N. It was meant to show loyality to the boss in the president house. It was to show that if time comes, premier would be standing with the president instead of justice. It was to cement his place in the premier house, which he owes to the Mr. Zardari.

Actually the thing is that Gilani is busy in chasing shadows and ghosts. His time is over, and he is trying to do what he cannot do.

  3. “the caliber of our Prime Minister is only suited to the district council politics and not beyond that”

What to say more–You summed it up so effortlessly.

  4. well said. Well said  you did sum it up pretty nice. These are the individuals who are actually suppose to offer some damn transparency in the country so that we can actually know the millions of dollars poured in Pakistan are being utlised in the right places. Let me cite an example. In the Karachi violence Pakistan received 1 billion rupees for the victims and yet no progress has been made for the claims!!

  5. It is said — it is never too late to mend– Gilani has showed his greatness bt visiting CJ and held meeting with him in which he agreed to Judiciary point of view - That is worthy on PM part
