Who Will Win Pakistan Election 2008 :Cycle,Arrow,Tiger?
By Amna Gilani • Feb 14th, 2008 • Category: Pakistan Vote'08, Politics • 2 CommentsAs the spell of rain has stopped in the country and chill has reduced, also the terrorists attacks in the main cities are not happening right now; the fever of election is getting visible more and more now.
With the polling day of Election 2008 is only four days away, Arrow, Cycle and Tiger are riding high for majority in National Assembly and the Provincial Assemblies, and their emblems also represent their passionate and wary eying for the reins of power after the Feb 18 elections.
These emblems are of utmost importance. These are a short, concise and swift manifestations of these parties. These emblems are not some vague allegorical symbols representing an abstract concept, rather they mean some deep running emotional and sentimental memories and promises in the minds of their respective voters and workers.
Arrow is the election symbol of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Tiger of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Cycle belongs to Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam.
Now let’s see who will be the victor: Cyclewalas, Tigerwalas or Arrowwalas

Regardless of which party or parties emerge as the winners on February 18, one thing is certain: The power and the influence of the feudals will be very well represented in the corridors of power. And the ordinary people of Pakistan will continue to be at their mercy in the name of democracy, unless the military refuses to cede power to the elected feudals.
Amidst all the cries for democracy, independent judiciary, human rights, and fair polls in Pakistan, nothing will change fundamentally on Feb 18. Regardless of the party labels and promises, the feudal power will endure in the name of democracy. The choices remain narrow for Pakistanis: Choose between military and the feudal class. There is no third choice as long as the middle class remains small and unable to exert any real influence. The only hope for real democracy lies in continued robust growth of the middle class over an extended period of time of another decade or two. There are no guarantees that feudal rulers will permit that.
Mr. Haq you are spot on with your statement “nothing will change fundamentally” until the middle class continues its growth, and the choice is between military dictators and fuedal lords.
