Who Dunnit ? Liberty Attack on Sri Lankan Team

(r) Junaid Zaman • Mar 3rd, 2009 • Category: Politics • 13 CommentsIn the post-9/11 world in general and in the post Mumbai Attacks in specific, one thing always assumed whenever there’s a terrorist attack is that it was perpetrated by Muslim extremists, and in case of India even before the smoke of attacks dies down, Indian officials start finger pointing on Pakistan. In case of Pakistan, whenever the terror attacks happen, we are too divided to form a unified opinion against internal or external enemies and hence nothing comes out.
One hopes that the way Rehman Malik and his gangs have extracted out the alleged criminals of Mumbai terror attacks and have unearthed many facts ,they will also be able to reveal the actors and plot behind the gory attack on Sri Lankan Cricket Team in Liberty Market Lahore.
We don’t have enough information yet to point any fingers, but think about the previous terror attacks and the regional groups and things could become somewhat little less murky. The style of Pakistani and Afghan Taliban is to utilize lone or at most couple of suicide bombers. They never use bombs, rocket propelled grenades, and heavy weaponry. Pakistani militant groups also use suicide bombers or they plant bombs. Insurgents like BLA and BRA don’t have the capacity or ability to execute such attacks.
Only highly trained, focused commandos could accomplish what was done in Liberty Chowk Lahore in which jawans of elite force died and the Sri Lankans players and match officials died. Killers were equipped with dried food, mineral water, heavy weapons which was hidden in the large sports bags also containing walkie talkie, torches and other small things. Some of the killers were present already in the Liberty chowk and the others came in Rickshaws from three directions. It is safely assumed that all were present in surroundings and it is highly likely that some of them spent night nearby. It would be a huge boost to find that night hideout of assassins near Liberty Market. It’s also guess that these terrorists wanted to kidnap the bus of Sri Lankans players, but due to the bravery of driver, they failed. They didn’t fired rocket launcher or hurled grenade at the bus, rather they attacked on the police and just tried to stop the bus by firing.
Instead of a few bombs going off or a lone suicide bomber blowing himself up, this mass group of terrorists launch a coordinated attack on the Cricketing team to cause maximum damage to the Pakistan’s credibility in the world to shoo away the foreigners from Pakistan and to portray Pakistan as the most dangerous country in the world, alarming and deathly to the foreigners where even the players are not safe.
After the Mumbai attacks, the biggest criticism was poured over the Indian security forces over their failure to counter and to preempt the terrorist attacks. The Lahore terror attacks were nothing but an Indian attempt to smear the face of Pakistan. By inflicting such terror attacks, Indian agencies have not only punished Sri Lankans for visiting Pakistan, they have also got more ammo to defame Pakistan. Already Indians have started raising hell about terrorism in Pakistan. Instead of condoling with the Pakistan, Indian officials are urging world to act against Pakistan.
Pakistan has no choice but to retaliate. Pakistan cannot adopt the evil ways of India and could execute such nefarious and evil attacks on the innocent Indian people and their foreigner guests, but Pakistan could increase its forces on the Eastern borders and should put pressure on India from all quarters. Pakistan should also look inwards and maximum heads must roll over this grand security lapse.

Since it was not a suicide attack, My opinion is that these guys were not idealist or Islamic militants. They were not willing to give up there lives for their causes, It seems to me that they were hired guns…

These are most probably the bastard filthy Alqaeda/Taliban Terrorists who want to destroy our way of living. They want to destroy our Mosques, Schools, Colleges, our Sports and everything. They shouldn’t be tolerated at all. Whatever the US is doing through drone attacks is absolutely correct. If we do not clean our own house, others will have to clean it. And we must also fix those who sympathise with these terrorists, such as elements of Jamat-e-Islami
Our goverment committed a great blunder by signing a truce with the terrorists in Swat. There is only one way to deal with these terrorist and that is Full Force
Meanwhile our liberal democratic parties like PPP, PML-N, PML-Q should also forget their differences and should do all they can to defend democracy and our way of life against these dark and evil forces of extremism and terrorism. We can never surrender our country to millitants, extremists or their sympathizers!
Who ever done it but its bitter reality that at this moment they are in in Lahore and enjoying our helplessness by seeing baseless comments, useless efforts in their search, and failed security lapse in heart of Lahore.It was happened just a mile away from the family houses of salman taseer, Just 2 minutes drive here located the residence of our defence minister ahamed mukhtar.This area is just I mile away from chaudry brother residences all in queues and on main roads.In another side of round about there were always 24 hrs police pickets.It is surrounded by high rise buildings which is one of dangerous places from terrorists point of view as all offices and shops in these buildings have their own personal security that are deputed their round the clock.
My point is here that if these terrorists are so angry from our govt people then why they didnt hit any of govt high profile figures just residing in this line on main roads.
I think major targets have been achieved
-equalizing the charges of mumbai incident ..
-Shifting of world cup matches from Pakistani soil .
-Putting more fuel in Pakistan specially in calm areas.
-Give way to more criticism from international forums .
Intention of creating state of horror and terror might be to decelerate lawyers movement from our non state characters like rehman malik, salman taseer, farooq naek etc so that they would enjoy their effort free ministries.

mumbai attacks were organized to divert the attention from samjhota express investigation………. and this attack was done to divert the attention from the lawyers movement and the NS and SS disqualification protests
like it was said on TV today that Farooq H (Ghal)Naik has better and stricter security then the one provided to the SL team

You are absolutely correct about one thing.These guys are very well trained commandos just like Mumbai attackers.You are also correct about the blame game of weakness of security agencies of both countries India and Pakistan for Mumbai and Lahore attacks.I also believe in your assesment that they didnot want to kill SriLankans but to take the whole bus as hostage.But for what?What did they want in exchange? Who to be released from Pakistani jail?
After your assessment you fail into the familiar trap of India and RAW.Don’t you see it is India which will be the biggest looser.
Is any tourist worth his salt will ever visit the taj by passing Pakistan?

The gainers are Dubai andn Sharjah who want cricket to be shifted from subcontinent with support from ICC controlled by the whitemen.It has blessing of drug cartels and also USA and drug barons in Afghanistan. As world is in recession, the drug trade is very important for USA.The liquid cash of nearly $400 billion is the pie which is driving these commandoes.I expect an attack in India soon with general election coming and i see IPL will be cancelled.
