Where Zardari Went Wrong

By Ali Yar Khan • Jan 24th, 2010 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 5 Comments

The raison det’re of sudden insurgency of President Zardari in the politics and his coming out of bunker is that he has sensed that his days are numbered and it’s just about time that someone else takes the throne in Islamabad. He knows that his past has at last caught up with him, and the NRO has proven to be the albatross for him, which is not a mistake or revenge by the apex court, but a natural outcome of a transparent justice, which is same for falcons and for the theives.

For himself and for the country, the start of Zardari was spectacularly magnificient. He started his personal career with a bang and exploited the assassination of his wife to the hilt, and struck a win-win deal with Musharraf. Then for himself and for the country, he struck reconciliation deals with arch-enemies like MQM and PML-N and made coalition governments with them in Sindh and Punjab, and he also took the ANP and JUI-F in the mainstream, while keeping the mouths shut of those who didn’t participate in the elections. But that was it.

Perhaps it was power, or perhaps it was the part of deal or perhaps it was his own weakness, or perhaps he became too smart, Zardari started making devastating blunders, one after another. He resisted restoration of judiciary, which was the main reason why Musharraf had to go, and why everyone hated him so much. He had to restore the judiciary at last at gun point because of public pressure. Zardari also ridiculted and violated the written and verbal accords with the allies and the allies like PML-N quitted from the federal government and that left him and his party at the mercy of chronic MQM blackmailing and ANP leg pulling.

Instead of learning from the past, Zardari sorrounded himself with non-political and non-PPP elements and cornered the veteran politicians of his own party. He also confronted establishment and the judiciary and even openly announced war with the army and other institutions. He kept the political and head of state designation with him and tried to conquer Punjab. His political and management acumen has gone busted, and now his credibility is zero with popularity in minus. His fate has been sealed, and that is perhaps better for Pakistan and for Pakistan People’s Party.

  1. Zardari would be fine if he had nominated some one else from the party to be the President and he should have just stayed out of Government. That was his biggest blunder, knowing what we know , Benazir NEVER wanted him to be part of Any govt. He would be much better if he would have choosen that path but jab aur khanae ki hawas ho tou phir bara mushkil hota hae kae> He is not a POLITICIAN but husband of Politician> He failed miserably.

  2. Kindly — Remember the followings:

Since the very first day of PPP Ruling Period when the memories & sympathies of Benazir’s brutal killing were with these stupid & entirely corrupt bunch of Jiyalays.

The White Paper was supposed to issue therein this would be incorporated in CRYSTAL CLEAR Words Yes we had done some Horrible Mistakes & Corruption as well in the past & right after the same we are ashamed — therefore kindly forget the same & for the BETTERMENT of this Beloved Country we all Pakistanis must fulfill the UTMOST Require the Elements of TRUTH & RECONCILIATION Matters so that thereafter Restoration of Deposed Judges & according to the same T & R Deed the list of the Corrupt & Ill minded persons would be filtered & sidelined to them simultaneously.

  3. Zaradri is riding a wave of arrogance and ignorance, he deserves every bit of what he is gonna get at the end but again he is a shyster.

  4. All his moves are reflective of his masonic mindset to grab and hold on to power. Whether one likes it or not but he is the President of Pakistan now and God knows for how long.

But my problem is with the people (including us all) who helped him to get here. For me it is just like making friends with SATAN and then expecting noble deeds from him. How ridiculous is that ?

  5. I think he always go worng
