Where is CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary?
By Rohail Butt • Apr 23rd, 2009 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 27 CommentsWhen Nawab Akbar Bugti was assassinated on the orders of General (r) Pervez Musharraf, the chief justice of Pakistan was Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary. When the case of Shazia Murree was raised, the apex court was headed by the Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary. No suo moto action was taken by him, though he was very active in taking actions against Musharraf and his ilk in Punjab. He is on the domicile of Balochistan but what has he done to disseminate the justice among the people of Balochistan?
Why doesn’t he take sou moto action against the murder of three Baloch nationalist leaders? That has literally disturbed whole of that province and now anti-Pakistan slogans are raised there and wall are filled with negative sentiments towards the state, and the settlers are being killed and ousted. Where is CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary?
Balochistan is deprived. Mind It. Balochistan is not what Punjab, Sindh and NWFP are. No development, no justice, no jobs, no health, no education and nothing has been offered in the Balochistan. Operations by the security forces has plucked out the love from the hearts of Baloch people regarding Pakistan and they are very angry and they mean business now. Cruelty is the order of day in the Balochistan. Balochistan is now demanding its right and they are spot on.
Establishment is the culprit here, but the wrath of the Baloch people is oozing on the Punjabi and Kashmiri people in the Balochistan. They are being killed and they are being looted and chased out of Balochistan. Militant organizations have sprung up in Balochistan who are demanding “independence” from Pakistan, and they are urging people to kill a Punjab to “prove” themselves Baloch. We, in Punjab and Sindh and NWFP must come out of this romance that everything is alright and few dissidents are creating fuss for a shorter period of time.
Things are really hard there and 71 like situation is there and ready to go out of the control of everyone. There may be some foreign powers involved giving money, weapons, training and other help to the militants in Balochistan, but that is not the root cause of skirmish in the Balochistan. Their anger is due to the domestic causes and emanates from the years of military operations, deprivation, neglect and high-handedness. Matters are getting worst and if nothing is done on urgent basis to appease the Baloch people then darkest moment is just round the corner, in fact its pace seems to be accelerating. For starters, what about sacking the head of FC in the Balohcistan?

CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, I dont think he is superman of justice and is human and can mistakes, however, on other hand, I do agree that Bolachistan is very far behind though have any
natural resource. unfortunately, the recent killing sparked huge problem.
I hope government do something to help people in Bolachistan else late reaction may hurt everyone
currently pakistan face major problems and this is one them.
As per US map for Pakistan, NWFP and Bolachistan included in Afganistan, the unrest by swat
talibanization and recent years of bloodshed in NWFP giving serious alarms to the country where
light, gas and water (basic needs of life) are daily problems of pakistanis.
May Allah Help Us All to overcome these time of crisis.
Complete provencial autonomy !
Immediate payment of all their dues / royalties!
Formation of Balochistn government by combined representation of all the local groups !
Display of our / Federations total solidarity in support of Balochi people !
When people have a sense of participation in their affairs, it becomes a little easier to endure hardships !
For all of the above you do not need either a “genius” like the Chief Justice or his discretionary “Suo moto” powers. These are administrative matters and can not be solved by the judiciary or ’suo moto’ writs.
Comment No. 2
a very good and positive comment my friend. While the article in itself doesnt’ deserve comments as the same is out of context and the writer is showing signs of hopelessness which in my view is worse and sickening for the READERS. In my view Ch. I.M. Chaudhary was reinstated by a deal brokered by US, U.K. and the lawyers movement president Aitezaz Hasan so I dont’ see any judicial activism on his part in the near future. Good luck to him.
It is a very unfortunate situation Pakistan is currently undergoing, it is not much different than that of 1971 when we lost a major part of Pakistan, once again and as a result of our own neglect we are standing at these crossroads where we are unable to distinguish between our people and the enemy;
India has installed 12 consulate offices in Afghanistan alongside the border in close proximity of Pakistan and using trained undercover RAW operatives to infiltrate into Pakistan and create an atmosphere of law and order issues resulting in a havoc.
Prior to this Pakistan bears the responsibility for not having dislodged the feudal Nawabs and princely individuals from their advantageous positions, instead Pakistan administrations considered these feudal nawabs and self imposed prince as collective bargainers similar to what British administration was doing to control larger populations by throwing a bone to feudal lords, jageerdars and nawabs.so they can take care of controlling the voice of larger masses without having to place incharge authorities to control and administer.
These feudal nawabs and self imposed prince etc. have deprived their very own people from many facilities and amenities that did not reach the given masses over these decades, while these feudals kept on increasing the price for their services while on the other hand continued to deprive their people of even such basic rights as education with one thing in mind that, if these people and their children are facilitated with opportunities to education they may come back to haunt us with the knowledge they gain from being educated and then it will make our(feudals) life difficult.
In as much as CJ is concerned he is buying time while posing in a fashion as if his hands are tied, which of course may be tied since the agreements to place him back to retake control of conditions that are compromising general law and order conditions of the country hamper the ability of the so-called superpowers like US & UK to continue their on going assault operations in other areas of the country and in Afghanistan. I has therefore become necessary for them to intervene and dictate to ruling authorities how things should be handled. All these so called lawyers leadership such as Aitzaz Ahsan et.al. have their children settled in US and look towards the interest of US and UK in favorable terms so not to upset their children’s lives. It is a game of give and take while most of these jokers have acted in self interest cock-eyed by their personal short term gains while sacrificing the larger interest of the nation of Pakistan.
The recent most killing of three prominent Balochistan citizens specially the one who was instrumental in gaining the release of UN envoy who was kidnapped appear to be the work of RAW agents regardless of who may have pulled the trigger, this is to make the masses of Balochistan believe that no matter how much you do in the interest of Pakistan, Pakistan does not care about your people.
It is high time that the administration take notice of the deteriorating situation and come to terms with the deprived Balochistan masses and instantly take action to accomodate their lives in a respectful and regardful manner since they are equal citizens of Pakistan, otherwise the days are numbered and nothing will help put this humpty dumpty together again once it falls and that would be it.
May Allah SWT bless the administrators of Pakistan with appropriate understanding to resolve this mess and may Allah SWT bless our Balochistan brethren with the vision to distinguish between friends and foes while the foes may have assembled themselves within the rows of friends, and, may Allah SWT protect Pakistan the nation which was founded as the homeland for Muslimss, ameen summa ameen.
Nawab Akbar Bugti served as Minister of State (Interior) in the government of Prime Minister Malik Sir Feroz Khan Noon, the CM and then the Governnor of Baluchistan………i dont remember him creating jobs, building schools or making roads……..how many chances more did he want, to give his people their rights?……..He was a feudal sardar at his core. He owned his own army, his own fort and own jails where he would keep his opponents as well as commoners.
infact akbar bughti supported the military operation in Blauchistan in 1974, why? because the insurgents were mostly Marri insurgents, Marri tribe his rivals then, how easy!
He owned his own army, his own fort and own jails where he would keep his opponents as well as commoners.
Former PM Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali was from Baluchistan………i dont remember him creating jobs, building schools or making roads………being the Chief Executive he could have done anything….
the truth is the people of baluchistan have been kept backward on purpose ……educated people with jobs would want to determine their own fate………..the fedual lords like Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti did not want that to happen, as these lords perfered to be the masters of their people’s destiny, like deciding who would a girl marry, and the husbands picked for them is uasually a crony or a henchman
these lords deny the girls education and prefer to keep them indoors…………just like the punjabi or sindhi jageerdars
isnt this how the taliban treat women?
and as far as the “Immediate payment of all their dues / royalties!” is concerned
the lords have regularly been given their royalties
Akbar Bughti’s main source of income was from commission he extracted from the Sui gas field amounting estimated £1 million a year and provided security to the fields for estimated £15000 per month. His province despite having enormous mineral riches has remained backward since Pakistan’s independence.
the only diference is that the foriegn powers are now offering more money to these lords
and also providing arms to tribes to fight against the state
other wise things are more or less the same
PS.
a very poorly directed post
Long live CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry!! The man we all look upto!! May Allah protect him, bless him and give him strength to fight the detroyers of Pakistan!!
Sajjad
yours point are more valid and authentic than author. There is only one system exists in balochistan through out their existence and it is condition of deals between ruling groups and sardars of locals. What ever govt ,they fix new policy, new commission with these sardars mostly of them are war and drug lords .Here governance is still going on with same principle of rule without considering the pathetic living conditions of its locals.Akbar bugti had become victim of gawador profits as our military gods were not in mood of giving free hand to them on this hen having golden eggs.So powerful rival finished another rival and others are standing in queue as per their turn.Army rulers always take them as their wild pets so that their cantonments not be targeted by their gangs. The killing of three balcohi sardars are linked with division of ransom money of john slecki and no doubt our agencies were involved in it as they knew that john solecki was an under cover CIA informer there. So it is very important to empower the people of balochistan by giving them benefits of royalty of natural resources of Balochistan at their door step.Govt negligence has turned these people as hardcore criminals and hidden powers are using them as paid lawbreaker.
Sajjad Sahab, I neither wish to nor have any more energy to get into this practice of ‘me right you wrong’ ! . You can pick the nits if that’s your calling. Just one sentence to set the record straight regarding your assertion, “the lords have regularly been given their royalties” countering my simple statement / recommendation that, “Immediate payment of all their dues / royalties” to the PROVINCE OF BALOCHISTAN. I am talking about the local goverment and NOT any LORDS!
The fact that they have been cheated off their rights by the, I will be charitable and just put the blame generally on, The Federal Goverment. This is such a fact that no one in the government, or anywhere close to power, has the gall and courage even to deny.
But of course if you and people like you think that paying some ‘peanuts’, some bribes, to any “lords” suffice then your world view is diagonally opposite to mine and in direct conflict with anything that could, even, remotely be called just & fair. And the adverse results are there for all to see; what we are witnessing there is ‘chicken coming home to roost’! Mubarak! Mubarak!
Dear Aftab
i am a bit dissapointed, by the “”‘me right you wrong’ !”" part
if i express my views its not to prove you or anyone wrong its to share opinion
when you talk with your friends on some issue , is it that all of you wish to prove the other wrong?
i do it for diversification of views……..
do as you please…….you’r the boss!
jo teri khushi woh meri khushi !
any way
please take a look at the list of MPAs and MNAs from Baluchistan
each and everyone of them would be a local Sardar/Nawab of a tribe
or a direct relative of one (Sardar/Nawab)
because these Sardars have so much control over their “subjects” that they are terrorized into voting for them,
the Lords who dont let people name children themselves(a petty issue and a basic right),
how can these Lords let the people cast their vote on their own?
not even a single appointment of any government post can take place without the approval of sardars
the point is MPA/MNA or not, these Sardars are all in all in their areas,
if the Assembly is intact , they are the MPA/MNAs ,
if not , they can go back to their old positions of “sardars”
so i think its fair enough to say the royalities WERE given to those who mattered the most……….
it’s not important if the receivers took it as a MPA/MNA or a Sardar………..
the important thing is they did not use it where it mattered the most i.e for the people.
Best Regards
Sajjad jee! what you “think” regarding royalties is just not “fair enough”. Think about it “receivers took it as MPA/MNA or a Sardar” - and you say that, royalities WERE given to those who mattered the most……….”. You know as well as we all do that we are guilty of committing gross injustice to our own people. Admittedly what is blotted can not be bottled now, however, from this moment on henceforth, right away if we sincerely effort to right the wrongs, it is still not too late but soon it will be.
No doubt
We (the other three provinces) should play our part
after all it takes two to clap
Hi sajjad,
You are right about the sardars. But nazia is also right about the ransom money and killing of 3 people. Well we the enemy to your nation from 1947 have got 12 consulates in afghanistan and we have every right to protect our nation from the 33 seperatist groups you have created in India including the naxalites who just like Taliban want NO ELECTIONS!!!!
Dear Johann
its the same case on both the sides of the border
deprived people armed by foriegn power to fight against the state
the core issues are the same, neglected people being misguided
but does that provide a justification for the “spy wars”?
Best Regards
i find it interesting to find a link between pakistan/ISI and the “naxalites”…………
?
kindly explain the link
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>we have every right to protect our nation from the 33 seperatist groups you have created in India including the naxalites
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
i guess every country has its share of dr.razahaiders
these people have one hobby:
BLAME THY NEIGHBOUR
even if there is falt tyre in Mumbai or Lahore
these dr.razahaiders and johanns would first point finger at the other then look at the facts
and if the facts show that the flat was due to a nail on the road
these johanns and dr.razahaiders would say that the nail has written on it
“Made in (the neighbouring country’s name)”
joahnns would either blame it on pak or bangaldesh
dr.razahaiders would either blame it on india or afghanistan
give the blame where its due
lol !(get it ? blame/credit )
blame the culprit, but after thinking and reasoning
but this is too much man !
CJ Iftikhar is an Islamist by nature…..This is why he has ignored the outrageous remarks of Swat Taliban leader Sufi, about Pakistan’s Supreme Court, High Court and Constitution. Where are the proponents of ‘independence of judiciary’ and ‘rule of law today’……the truth is that the so called justice movement kept Pakistan destabilised for 2 long years and nothing good can be expected as outcome of that ‘justice restoration’ drama, which has already ended……..
We really miss President General Pervez Musharraf today….He dealt well with extremists, terrorists and secessionists, who’re all emenies of our country.
May GOD Almighty save Pakistan from extremists, terrorists and separatists…
ATTTENTION PLZ
Plz ignore comments from “free sikkim/free manipur/ free etc” ……..they are all done by Arif-The Joker.
Its a old Pakistani tactic of using Pakistani names to confuse others.
Plz ignore all such comments.
sorry friends:
should be “tactic of using Indian names”
so mr balcohistan
you have taken my point, very very bad boy you are.
Naziaji, dont you worry.
You are the queen of our hearts in TPS.
Keep rocking.
Johann
here you are making mistakes on judging yours prevailing conditions in border area of India.12 consulates are allowed to you by US for their double faced policies in south Asia. They are looking and thinking far behind than our scope. They want to use Afghan and Shara area between Algeria and morocco for their future breeding grounds as pet terrorists.Indian consulate will help them in two ways .One way they will get cheaper expertise from India in construction and rehabilitation process and secondly pressurized Pakistan’s forces to keep them in limit of deals as per US plans.
The insurgency by 33 groups in Indian borders is the weakness of you corrupt political forces that as usual neglect these areas from their rights.Give them respect and their due share you would be successful in at least minimizing such revolts.
