We Should Welcome America to Attack FATA
By Gul Raiz • May 30th, 2010 • Category: Politics • 7 CommentsIt is no secret now for us and for the world that the tribal region of the Pakistan has become a safe heaven for the terrorists, which are a threat not only to the Pakistan but also for the whole world. Recent most glaring example is the ties between Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad and elements of the Pakistani Taliban and now the terrorists who attacked and kill Qadyani religious place in Lahore and killed more than 80 people also got backing from this region.
Allowing Americans to attack FATA and clean it up doesn’t mean that the Pakistani forces are not capable for that. It’s just it would save lots of money, hassle, bloodshed of Pakistani soldiers in this region, if American use their superior technology. That, and it would also lift pressure from the Pakistani establishment who is trying to put some sense into the Taliban to accept peace and stop terrorizing the world from this region. This would provide a huge opportunity for the establishment to redefine the strategic depth and the international policy and focus more on stability.
The U.S. military is developing plans for a unilateral attack on the Pakistani Taliban in the event of a successful terrorist strike in the United States that can be traced to them, a US newspaper reports. The military would focus on air and missile strikes but also could use small teams of U.S. Special Operations troops currently along the border with Afghanistan. This would not really damage the ties between America and Pakistan if they take it objectively and think about larger good of the region and Pakistan.

Don’t expect others to do your job, it will get messy!
Hi Gul riaz,
Here everyone in TTP except Brig Zaman once have called the drone attacks by Americans as violation of Pakistan sovereignty and asked for its stoppage. Why this change of heart?.
As we know various time pointed out by Imran Khan, QHA or Munawar Hussain of JI, Ch. Nisar Real brother of a General, Rtd.Gen. Oarakzai, Asad Durrani, Hameed Gul, Aslam Baig & many others they all blaming to the Active Generals & Brigadiers who are now a days killing at Northern Areas against American Dictation & of course the realization of these Fauji Generals know what is coming in form of US$ for them?
Yes very much True Dr.Shireen Mazari, Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa, Dr. Shahid Masood & others kindly read with attention If this Unlawful Act of Fauji Generals From Ayub Khan to Pervaiz Musharraff would happen in America people would immediately find it weird, but weird things happen so often in America that the public doesn’t give a fu*k.
The SC of Pakistan issued the Summon to Mushy “Be calm, it’s just an exercise. Move along, nothing to see here.”
Unless Courage to do Something Unusual Something U Turn against the wishes of the West.
If there’s a surprise Unlawful Activity in your neighborhood being conducted by people whom you cannot identify, what would you do? Notify authorities, lock and load, move to a position where you can from concealment acquire targets. Stay calm and don’t engage unless you need to defend-yourself or others in your area.
The best way to survive a Lawful Fight is to avoid one, but be prepared to Repel Aggression.

Why the hell would america send its own troops when the Pakistani army is there to do the dirty work for it?
American’s superior technology is actually inferior to brown soldiers on the ground. Their aerial bombardments causes more civilian casualties and inflames the situation. Their ground forces will never be accepted as a legitimate force by the people of Pakistan. The americans know this and they won’t send their forces in large numbers. At most they’re are talking about a small group of elite soldiers. What will happen once these soldiers leave? Who will clean up the mess they leave behind? Pakistani soldiers of course!
I find it absurd on author’s part to suggest that we should welcome America to attack FATA. Why don’t we see the writing on the wall, Americans have already made enough mess in Iraq and Afghanistan.
If Americans were capable of ridding the world from terrorists then the could have achieved their goal long time ago.
Pakistan army is capable to conduct operations within the state; we have demonstrated so in Sawat and in South Waziristan. For now we can make good use of the modern equipment provided by our allies and improve the information sharing mechanism. There is a dire need for increasing the cooperation between various intelligence agencies so that we can prevent the colossal loss of civilian casualties.
I believe a unilateral attack would spark fury and anger in Pakistan and will be wide-spread. But an option of combined operation in FATA can be prove to be decisive. USA with its technology edge and Pakistani forces with an experience of the terrain, can prove to be the combination we are looking for.
