US Occupation of Pakistan: Phase one is complete

By A Khokar • Sep 1st, 2009 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 108 Comments

Pakistanis are watching it happen in the streets of Islamabad. The recurring nightmare has become a grim reality here that after watching last 8 years the horrors of the U.S. invasions and occupations of Iraq and neighbouring Afghanistan, the exterminators and executioners of “war on terror” have finally arrived in The Land of the Pure—-Pakistan. Obama is fulfilling his declared campaign promise to Pakistan. The sudden arrival of U.S. marines, U.S. military Hummers, the hired killers of Blackwater have all arrived in Islamabad to start with.  The people in the streets are curious how the houses are being barricaded for U.S. personnel in Islamabad and the construction of the world’s largest U.S. “Embassy” are terrorizing this nation of 180 million people. The U.S. slaughter and destruction in Iraq and neighbouring Afghanistan for the last 8 years warns them of what may lie in store for them, for their families and their dream land-Pakistan.

Until this landing of U.S. forces, the nation’s spokesman for Foreign Affairs had been denying that 1000 U.S. marines were on their way to Islamabad. The thousand marines are now in the capital city of Islamabad. Some of them may be quietly slipping into Baluchistan where the presence of JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command) has already been reported. But most are here; supposedly to defend what will be the largest U.S. embassy being turned into a fortress in the world—- now under construction and to spearhead the subsequent phases of invasion and occupation.

The Costs

US Ambassador in Pakistan Anne W. Patterson says;  “The total cost for housing and general support for the marines alone will be US$112.5 million”. She said  the money is allocated as follows: “$5 million was for Marine quarters, $53.5 for housing infrastructure, $18 million for improvement of general services office area, and $36 million for temporary duty quarters and community support facilities.”

In Patterson’s explanation of the massive expansion of the U.S. Embassy she talked about 4 Billion (that’s with a big “B”) dollars.“The embassy expansion, she said, was a reflection of the long-term commitment that the US intended to have with Pakistan. Moreover, she said, quadrupling of the social, economic and military assistance that would touch $4 billion a year over the next 18 months, has necessitated staff increase.”
Ambassador Patterson did not clarify whether the $4 Billion covers the construction which will make this embassy the largest in the world. When this construction is seen in context and coordination with the new level of U.S. occupation of Pakistan, it looks more like a permanent military base than an embassy for running military and covert operations not only in Pakistan but also in the region.

Weapons and Hummers

Eye witnesses and informed journalists have been reporting sightings of U.S. personnel in Islamabad for the past week or so, but now they are seen moving freely throughout the capital. The law (Section 144) enforced provides that Pakistanis who own guns are not permitted to carry them in Islamabad. But U.S. personnel are showing Pakistanis that they are above the law as they openly brandish their weapons. It has also been confirmed that 3,000 U.S. military Hummers, locked and loaded are awaiting dispatch in Karachi’s Port Qasim. For millions of Pakistanis news of these Hummers conjures up images of U.S. troops charging through the streets of Iraqi cities, armed to the teeth, terrifying and often killing unarmed civilians.

On Feb. 23, 2009 the Pentagon revealed that over 70 U.S. military advisers had been secretly working in Pakistan.

Blackwater and the CIA

Pakistanis have known about the 300 U.S. military “advisers” lodged in Tarbela. But news of the arrival of the notorious Blackwater mercenaries in addition to the thousand U.S. marines is riveting their attention. In Pakistan, Blackwater is trading its tainted name for a telling name “Xe Worldwide”, – the name behind which these paid killers are now hiding at the moment.

Also, last week, Creative Associates International Inc (CAII), a CIA front, has been operating in Peshawar. They have now sealed off a road and set up shop near the houses of senior Pakistani officials in Islamabad, directly across from a school. Reportedly some 65 additional houses have been purchased in Peshawar.

Some Pakistani right wing analysts speak about the new arrival of U.S. forces in Pakistan and fear that the US marines; “Will some of these go to the Pentagon’s assassination squads, who may take up residence in some of the barricaded Islamabad houses and with whom the present US commander in Afghanistan was directly associated? Ordinary officials at Pakistani airports have also been muttering their concerns over chartered flights flying in Americans whose entry is not recorded – even the flight crews are not checked for visas and so there is now no record-keeping of exactly how many Americans are coming into or going out of Pakistan. Incidentally the CAII’s (CIA/Blackwater) Craig Davis who was deported has now returned to Peshawar! And let us not be fooled by the cry that numbers reflect friendship since we know— what numbers meant earlier to Soviet satellites.”

The Pearl Continental, a luxury hotel in Peshawar was bombed on June 9, 2009. The U.S. routinely blames these attacks on Muslim terrorists. The U.S. has also routinely sabotaged peace agreements between the Pakistan government and various resistance groups in Pakistan. Attacks like this are used to justify the current invasion and occupation by the United States.

Given little attention in the corporate media, Peshawar’s Pearl Continental Hotel was bombed on June 9, 2009. At the time of the bombing, Pakistani media reported officially that it was housing U.S. personnel at the time but did not mention Blackwater. However, Blackwater’s name began to surface in rumours and unofficial reports after the Peshawar bombing.

But seeing all this happening in the broad day light; the present government is keeping mum zipped and eyes shut. “ik Khamoshi see Khamoushi hey”. Looks like they all are observing a good fasting practices in the month of Ramadan; see no evil–speak no evil.

  1. I think US occupation would be bad for Pakistan but good for the Pakistanis. At least, they would get rid of these ****ing politicians.

    We need you back, Musharraf.

Pakistan is at stalemate since you left your rule. Pakistanis realizes their mistake and wanted you to come back and rule the country again

  2. Dear Khlid Hamid,

No you may not like Musharraf to come back—-because he has finally—- as a guardian handed over— his virgin (Pakistan) that he has been guarding its sanctity so jealously.

To expand your view point further and as I said elsewhere—- this is an undeniable fact that Pak Army has been always at the helms of the affairs in Pakistan or to say more explicitly they have been considering themselves the only saviour of this nation and have been guarding Pakistan very jealously to the extent of owning it and —- as there were none else competent enough from civil side who could come at par with them.

Leaving all the constraints related to Pakistan geo political situation and limitations of our armed forces on one side— they have been guarding this land like a precious jewel.
Owing to the above scenario this is not difficult to ascertain that in Pakistan there is an inherent deficiency of development of its political side which is totally an underdeveloped area.
    In view
of above here we have got a situation; where our Pakistan is in front of us just like a virgin; sanctity of which has been very jealously been guarded by her guardian (Army father) but —this guardian is now seen moving in the arena along with the virgin and agreed to hand her beloved one over— for a wed lock to her future (civilian) guardian.
Musharraf may be seen as the last of her guardian in line but not the only one. This must be borne in mind.

So when this guardian has agreed to hand her over— the only demand of the guardian may be that—- this guardian want to retire with grace and dignity.
Better this civilian guardian comes forward to measure up to the expectation of the retiring guardian.

Passionate people who guard their loved one jealously react vehemently to whom they hand their loved one over and no one may stop them to react and revisit the known grounds they left to take charge.

Anyhow here the subject matter is—– US take over— that US is seen moving in Pakistan with a set pace—- but through her subversive tact of Run deep Run silent.

  3. So history is again repeating in Pakistan soil ,now with black water marines in the the place of east India company.
Who is allowing them surely it is troika of present civilian govt, army and ex govt who initiated this war on terror in our region.
Now the purpose of NRO team is quite clear to all of us that why we have been made liable to go for such team to come and control our state affairs which had solid background of corruption and poor management in their political career.
Here I dont agree with you that Pakistan army is behaving like fatherly expressions to save her virgin but it is clearly showing us the mentality of feudal who wants to hold this virgin under his confinement at all costs.
If they were sincere about it we took no time to restore judiciary at any early stage after seeing massive public’ protest instead of lengthening this conflict for more than two years.
if they have bit of sincerity then they haven’t gone for secret Dubai meetings with absconders of past but preferred to make ties with local and common political figures.
Their gauge of sincerity is easily measured that they are still keeping the dubious character like fazalurrrehman, altf hussan and brg imitaz like in their pockets who are just political and religious goons of safeguarding their terror culture among common masses.
Their legal eligibility has also become obvious through your this report that they are ready to give this virgin to any power that is superior to them but surely not in mood of restoring her real honor among her own people.
so Your point of view that our savior is all doing this mess under the feelings of possessiveness and jealousy is not looking me suitable in prevailing circumstances.
but no doubt corruption of seniors and wrong strategy of war on terror has already divided army from their traditional conceptual basis and it might be the reason of their retrieval from the helms of civilians rule.

  4. So you sir Khokhar, mean Afghanis are better than us as for they have nothing to sacrify for their freedom but their lives? And we have everything to sacrify for… for what?

  5. u stupid pakis!

u ppl are the same d*ckheads you were back in 1857!,u ppl were prostitutes back then and u are prostitues today! u will do any thing for money even if means selling your mother.

its time for u to rise againsrt your establishmenst and kick out all the hidja leaders like zardari, nawaz, the mullahs , musharraf and altaf and the ur Godfather the army !! all of them are silent , they all are hidjas !
if u keep sleeping like this , u deserve to be f**ked like you are being !

  6. Nazia and Khokhar, for what exactly you think Black Water is here?

  7. Mr Jeech,

Surely you don’t need Mr Khokar to inform you that a single Afghan is worth a thousand Pakistanis. For last I checked, any appraisal of history ought to lend itself to you as the greater instructor. We Afghans have never failed to defend our land with the blood of our martyrs, as we succumb to no master, not even from among ourselves. My own forefathers who ruled Afghanistan had came to earn names such as “The Iron Amir” by none other than stupefied Englishmen who needed to justify their failure to colonize Afghanistan, in favor of subsidizing the state for cooperation (almost bankrupting the Raj). What the English never understood is that the greatest of Afghan rulers owed their sovereignty to the consent of the tribes and not on overwhelming reliance on ruthlessness. Absent any popular consent, Afghans have unfailingly arisen to remove all self-imposed rulers.

This is what distinguishes an Afghan from a Pakistani (or those among you that fall beyond the Indus), for whereas you succumb to other men’s authority, we reject it. Even your superficial Islamic beliefs are based on human enforcement, for you don’t trust yourselves to observe faith on your own account. That the Afghan people were forced to endure Pakistani sponsored Islamists in their nation, owed itself to the trophy your leaders gave themselves after the Soviet expulsion, rather than an Afghan consent. Be sure to note that we will gradually eliminate all the visages of your cowardly culture that’s reared its ugly head on our sacred soil.

Did you Pakies really believe that for all our sacrifices as proudly displayed on the canvass of Afghan history, we’d end up playing second fiddle to our former servants from beyond the Indus by way of their Taliban proxies? Of course you did!

The sheer collective genius of the Afghan nation is in their ability to confuse those seeking aggression upon us. Laughably, our enemies never fail to make the mistake of undermining our will to uphold our national sovereignty. The Soviets miscalculated that given the Afghan rejection of the Pakistani state, we’d never tolerate your Islamist goons into bringing down the Soviets. To their surprise however, we ended up not only tolerating the likes of Gulbudeen, but we surrendered our sons to the cause! To us, it was more important to liberate the nation from Soviet aggression, than to fight two enemies simultaneously.

Now, it’s the Pakistanis who expect that we’d never tolerate US and allied presence in Afghanistan, while you quietly rejoice inflated news articles about an apparent “insurgency” in Afghanistan. Yet the truth is that we’ll continue to tolerate and work with the US, India and Israel, until there is no more “Pakistan” to speak of. This war will only end when we decapitate your heads, feed your bodies to your malnourished and raise your heads on stakes for all future generations to remember.

    Wallah Chpraedum!

  8. Hi Khokar,
You say you are a nation of 180 million and also called land of Pure Islam. But you are afraid of 1000/2000 marines!!!!!( Anne patterson says the number is 35 and 300 other staff).Your standing army is about 10 million and they are afraid of 2000 marines. Your Airforce requires a Drone from America to kill the number one terrorist of Pakistan and who was a RAW agent baitullah mehsud. These army /airforce guys work only against India?!!!!
“”" But you give the game away by your post itself “Ambassador Patterson did not clarify whether the $4 Billion covers the construction which will make this embassy the largest in the world”"”You want that $ 4 billion but want to be called INDEPENDENT PURE ISLAMIC NATION!!!!!!!!

  9. ## 7 by Barekzai

    Significant statement!!
    Especially the last stanza.

    Must read.

  10. Well said Johann, though I think the Pakies have a reason to soil their diapers. After all, it took just 6-9 US servicemen with boots on the ground to annihilate the entire “government” of their Taliban goons in a matter of days! Those simpletons were trained, indoctrinated, fed, guided into battle and received the logistical backing of the Pakistani military. Let’s just say both the Pakistanis and their Chinese allies have a pretty good idea about which is the superior power….oh did I mention the Chinese? I guess it might have something to do with PLA presence in Taliban blighted Afghanistan.

  11. Dear Mr. Khokhar,

Your article seems to be a word to word copy of a Global Research (www.globalresearch.ca) article by Talha Mujaddidi. And I don’t see that you cited his name or credited him in anyway. Here’s the link to the original article… http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=14984

    Regards.

  12. @Omerrr

Thanks for the original source. Now i can understand the character of Mr. Khokar’s (from Land of Pure).

  13. Well put Barekzai, though I don’t totally agree to you.

  16. After reading the comment 7 It is obvious that now even afganis one of stone age nation in this 21st century has got guts to hit and criticize us in their aggressive way.
I also heard same kind of comments from some Afghani families who were settled near malakand area.As army started raid on them and left them again homeless they took their all baggage and went back to Afghanistan with same kind of comments as I read under barkzai.
They even claimed before leaving that at this moment Afghanistan has become much better place than present Pakistan so its better for them to go back to their homeland.
I really miss the presence of dictator among us who always claimed in his tenure that he allowed US to start its war on terror to save us going it to stone age.
Now we are heading near to stone age values as he left us for taking asylum in first world.

  17. Dear Maria Sultan,

    ## 6

Following will give you some clues that why black water is here in Pakistan. The report says:
The CIA has reportedly hired the infamous US security firm Blackwater on the Pakistan borders to help track down Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants. The New York Times first reported Blackwater’s involvement late Wednesday on its Web site. The report said Blackwater executives helped with planning, training and surveillance for a secret program to kill top-level members of Al-Qaida.

“This is a huge threat for our national security,” says Hamid Mir, an Islamabad-based Geo TV anchor and defense and security analyst. He argue that the presence of Blackwater would rather complicate the security situation in Pakistan. “They are trying to establish their feet. They are hiding themselves under the diplomatic and FBI covers,” an intelligence official said in anonymity for not being authorized to discuss the sensitive issue.

He said Blackwater has hired the services of some local security agencies to work for them.

Black water is a ‘The North Carolina-based security firm’, established ten years ago by Erik Prince, a former Navy SEAL and a right-wing son of a multi-millionaire, gained world notoriety over involvement in dozens of unprovoked civilian killings in Iraq.

A recent US congressional report discovered Blackwater has been involved in 195 shooting incidents since 2005, mostly unprovoked.

The New York Times reported that the CIA did not have a formal contract with Blackwater for this program but instead had individual agreements with top company officials, including founder Erik D. Prince.
Says that ‘to receive lucrative perks and fulfil the agenda of foreign agencies is our known profession. We do it—- to earn our livings. It includes us all; individuals as well as our governments- past and present

  18. Johann
    Hi,

    will come back

  19. Johann,

This is not the armed forces strength that matters and because Pakistan has large army so presence of few hundreds of US marine should not make any difference. This is a matter of principles.

And what would you think that since India has much larger army so what about sending few hundreds of these marines to India and specially your city Bangalore. How would you feel?

Drone is a special technology which is extensively developed, especially by Israel for carrying out subversive activities against the foes and selective targets by stealth. It engages the targets with precision and has got a sure kill rate. Even Russia who has got an advanced technology in this fields has recently bought some 12 UAV Drones from Israel.

Israeli government-owned Rafael Armament Development Authority , the pioneers in drone manufacturing which also makes the Spike ER (extended range) guided weapon is busy developing new weapons system, called Moav, which involves developing a pilotless drone armed with air-to-air missiles which would cruise deep into enemy territory where ballistic missile launch pads were located. As soon as an enemy missile was launched towards Israel, the drone would fire a Moav missile at the rocket.

The Moav would also serve as a dissuasive averse weapon since the enemy would know that its missiles could be destroyed over its own territory, potentially causing widespread damage if they are armed with non-conventional warheads.

In Pakistan we are also aware of it that India with the help of Israel is also developing this technology and has also bought some 50 aerial drones for $220 million in 2005[1] from Israeli. According to Stratfor, an international affairs consulting firm, India said it would use its new drones to patrol the disputed region of Kashmir, along the border with Pakistan, as well as the Himalayan border with China.

Any how Pakistan is certainly developing its own technology. By grace of God it will be able to develope a perfect weapon system. Like India this will not happen that after few decades down the line the Nuclear Engineers will say that their first atomic blast was— a stark failure.
