Tips and Masks to tackle with Dry Skin in Winter

By Mahina Murtaza • Dec 13th, 2009 • Category: Misc • No Responses

Because of low humidity in the air, skin dryness is very common in winter. However, I am suggesting some tips and masks that can help you prevent this:

  • Whenever you light up the heater, place an open bowl of steel containing water near it. This will help water evaporate and humidify the air of the room.
  • For protecting the skin, don’t bathe for too long and keep the water warm and not too hot. This goes same for the hair as hot water adds up a dry and rough look to them.
  • After bathing use some botanical body oil. Oiling prevents the skin from drying.
  •  Use some moisturizer every time you wash your hands, face or feet.
  •  Put off wet clothes, socks and gloves as soon as possible.

And here are some homemade facial masks for dry skin:

Take a banana and half it. Mash this in a bowl and now add four tablespoons of plain yogurt in it and mix until smooth. Apply this over face and leave for about 12 to 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. Yogurt has the property of removing dead skin so that will give skin a fresh look.

Take one egg and separate its yolk.  Now take 1 tablespoon of honey and mix this yolk with it. Apply it over face for 10 to 15 minutes and then wash with warm water.
