Hey Hassan Amin / Umair, let me raise your attention to another post here: Let’s call it – Pakistan Sea!»
By Guest Blogger, Aug 19th, 2009

Please, do read and comment on it. I think it has a valid point of national interest and we ought to unite on this one.
Best.

Only yesterday one prominent journalist on a major channel called the Sipah-e-Sahaba terrorist leader who got killed the other day; a credible scholar!!! What is wrong with these people? How is leader of a terrorist organisation that kills and burns people a scholar of anything? Of course he’s is not but how are you going to make ‘lakeer kay khanzeer’ people understand this?

Well, the educated class is not gullible, but rather helpless.

The Gojra carnage is yet another reminder that extremism is the biggest threat that we face. This menace of extremism has to be eradicated once and for all, if we ever are to transform into a civilized society. Unfortunately, after President Musharraf departure from office, the new government seems to have given up on the struggle to curb extremism in the society and is even seen to be appeasing fanatic Moulvis. For example the notorious terrorist cleric, responsible for Lal Masjid crisis was freed in March, even though there were 11 cases of high treason, murder, kidnapping and terrorism standing against him. The release of this beast king-terrorist has emboldened the extremists to the extent that now they seem to think that whatever odious act of violence they commit, they can still get away with it. Those who never tire talking about justice, rule of law ought to question themselves: why this terrorist Moulvi Abdul Aziz was released in the first place? Had this terrorist been hanged for his crime, it would have served as a strong deterrent to extremists, would-be-perpetrators, instigators of the sort of violence we witnessed in Gojra.
