The Political Reconciliation: Need of the Hour

By Farid Masood • Feb 19th, 2008 • Category: Pakistan Vote'08, Politics • No Responses

There are many speculations done by the government and by the various political parties about the elections and rigging. There are many statements from the Attorney General and the President of Pakistan. The yesterday’s statement of the president has not been faded out from the minds of the people.

There are many provoking statement from the care-taken Chairman of PPP Mr Asif Ali Zardari. There are statements of Impeachment of the Presidents after coming into power.

Is it the time suitable for such statements. We know the President have done much to save his seat. He has over-thrown the hole Judiciary. He has made certain decisions of declaration of emergency, phosphorous bombing the Lal Masjid, army action in Wana, Waziristan and Balouchistan.

Whoever forms the government must have a working relation with the President. Yes off-course the President has to follow what parliament says. Every decision must have to be vetting by the parliament. Can we pardon the President for his decision if he accepts the re-instatement of Judiciary at November 2, 2007 stage, if he promises to cooperate with the new government, if he promises not to use the power of Assembly dissolution to protect his chair, if he becomes neutral.

The time demands Political Re-conciliation between all the parties in the Parliament and the President.
