The Man Of Principles

Aitzaz Ahsan just cannot stop earning more respect from me.By proving to be a man of principles yet again , he’s climbed a step higher in my eyes.As a token of protest against the lawyers’ violence towards journalists , Mr. Ahsan has announced that he will consider himself suspended from the lahore high court bar from where he started his practice 40 years ago.
At a time when the image of the lawyers’ movement that proved to be one of the most successful in the history of Pakistan is being tarnished by a few black sheep, people like Aitzaz Ahsan who were the lifeblood of the historical movement will only gain more respect by taking such principled stands.Chief Justice Lahore High Court Khwaja Mohammad Shareef is expected to take strict action towards such rotten eggs.Hope he, like Aitzaz Ahsan, lives upto the expectations.

Natasha, you are a very optimistic person which is not bad at all, at least it helps to get up in the morning and face the dreams shaterring and still have hopes to go on. Lawyers at it again; assault journalists at LHC (More you can read in papers today - Good day!)

LAHORE: Continuing their assault on journalists, lawyers attacked and manhandled reporters and cameramen on the premises of the Lahore High Court on Thursday after the hearing of a suo motu case pertaining to the thrashing of an ASI and reporters by some lawyers in a sessions court last week.
The infuriated lawyers, led by Lahore Bar Association vice-president M.R. Awan, attacked reporters and cameramen outside the court, pelted vans of TV channels with stones and tried to push them out of the LHC premises.
An LHC bench consisting of Chief Justice Khawaja Mohammad Sharif and Justice Ijaz Chaudhry was hearing the case when a large number of lawyers present in the courtroom started shouting slogans against the media. The bench adjourned the hearing for August 13.
I have been a part of lawyers movement and I have high regard for CJP, but I have always felt that Aitezaz always remained aboard on two ships and never really sacrificed PPP all along and it was only Nawaz Sharif’s boldness that enabled CJP restoration in the end. Aitezaz is not gutsy enough to be the power player.Had he got that mettle, he would have made a fine PM.
By the way where was Aitezaz when Lawyers were beating Dr. Sher Afgan, Dr. Sattar, — Spraying face of Qusoori, Beaten staff in Faisalabad bar, beaten journalists in Lahore ETC.
Why Aitezaz only came when issue was FULLY HIGHLIGHTED in media ?
I don’t see any WHITE SHEEP in Lawyers community now and Aitezaz is one of the biggest LOTA of lawyers community — the day he saw things in favor of media and journalists and people have realized flaws in lawyers community he bent towards MEDIA for his publicity to fool people. Before that everything was going fine ?
In short Aitezaz has become threesome Lota — add Media too.
I wish he could lodge FIR against those lawyers in past or had thrown them out when he was president of Bar association.
People who know better have this ‘compliment’ to make - Frankly, Aitaza is really easy to get along with once people learn to worship me. When probed further to explain what this exactly could mean it went something like, it is kinda difficult, you see if you try to differentiate between a catfish and our this narcissistic ‘politician cum lawyer cum agitator cum driver cum intriguer cum schemer cum deserter cum whatever’ - you find him a bottom-crawling scum sucker, and the other’s just a fish.
A new client had just come in to see him the biggest lawyer man (you know)
“Can you tell me how much you charge?” asked the client.
“Of course”, Natasha’s hero lawyer man replied, “I charge Rs50000 to answer three questions!”
“Well that’s a bit steep, isn’t it?”
“Yes it is,” said this ‘Hero’ lawyer, “And what’s your third question?”
At the height of a political corruption trial, the Jiyo (or is it jiyala?) lawyer attacked a witness. “Isn’t it true,” he bellowed, “that you accepted two BMWs to compromise this case?”
The witness looked around, as though he hadn’t heard the question.
“Isn’t it true that you accepted two BMWs to compromise this case?” the Jiyala lawyer repeated.
The witness still did not respond.
Finally, THE JUDGE (you know !) leaned over and said, “You must answer the question.”
“Oh,” the startled witness said, “I thought he was talking to you.” !!!
The vandal lawyers need to be taught a lesson. In retrospect, President Musharraf’s government was wise to have dealt with these criminals in the manner they truly deserved!
What really irks the common citizen is the fact that no so called “people’s judge” seems interested to take suo-moto action to bring these criminal lawyers to justice.

Aitzaz is not to be blamed for what a few nasty big-headed lawyers are doing.He’s given up his LHC bar priveleges BECAUSE of these very people.So for God’s sake atleast spare him in THIS case.

Aitzaz Ahsan was the MAN who saved Sher Afgan’s life when he was attacked by some hooligans.Kindly recall the incident that you’ve conveniently forgotten.Aitzaz Ahsan cannot be everywhere.He did what he could.When the Sher Afgan incident happened , he resigned as the president of the SCBA but being one of the strongest leaders of the movement was requested to take it back.(it was not some drama that altaf hussain displays from time to time)He cannot physically stop anyone who misbehaves.He can only do what he can and he’s done that.It takes morals and courage to take such bold steps.Pakistanis are not used to it undortunately.So you lot are finding faults with this as well!What a shame!

Well, then it might have been a ’soft’ suo-moto axn that didn’t garner much publicity in the media… Lol
I thought Sher Afgan was laid in Police van surrounded by one police wala only. Aitezaz was only asking for creating drama there.
What I know is the very next day Aitezaz was literally justifying lawyers’ act of barbarianism in media. Even if he could not resign at that time because of “Majboori” what made him silent when lawyers were breaking the furniture and beating the chokidar in Faisalabad bar like hell. Oh he must be busy with meeting Kyani at that time. The MAN of PPP, Lawyer’s brigade and now the Journalist is busy in changing sides these days.
Anyway he’s not worth discussing. I am out from this discussion.

If not a Lawyer, AA wuld have been a good Madari.He helped his bosses Benazir(marhoom) and Zardari to steal Millions and get away, now to clean his Image he has become the world saviour.He also wants to bee poets. What ever people consider him man of principles or honor or man of law but he is living with us like a common man.he never opted to run away, never confined in his home in the name of security and never used a single act come in circle of illegality so discussing his little things/acts for one’s peceptions is quite irrelevant and no one here can compare this self made man of honour with a dictator or corrupt poltician.
Musharf strong establishment was so much afraid of such unarmed people that they preferred to shake hands with zardari,sharif and mqm like goons to push behind such characters in filed of poltics but as I say slowly slowly evolution process under protection of law of state has been started. lets see who runs or who stays in front of this tide of judiciary.
AA is a traitor!
Hopefully, President Musharraf would soon enlighten us on the noxious role Aitzaz Ahsan played in destabilizing the country in the name of justice movement. He is the man who incited the May 12 violence.
