The Lawyers must be all set to back the SCP
By Aftab Alam • Feb 12th, 2012 • Category: Politics • 9 CommentsPPP’s ‘Jayalas’ tongue lashings are on the rise we, the lawyers’ community therefore must be on the alert to take them to the task. The SCP is already doing more than ever before against all the odds in very unfriendly circumstances.
It’s the SCP, which demonstrated the nerve to kick out the Mushi. And it’s the SCP which halted any outing successor of the Mushi anymore!!!
It’s the SCP undoubtedly, which has enmeshed the most corrupt & horrendous animals in Islamabad unprecedentedly!!!
The SCP is an exemplary Apex Court of the country, which is supposed to administer justice and which the SCP is doing in very charged circumstances from all rounds!!!
We should therefore be thankful to Allah Almighty who has granted us such an apex court for the first time in our history and the lawyers’ fraternity as well as civil society must therefore tighten their belts to back the SCP in her Jihad against the evil forces and to protect her from the corrupt animals in the country!!!

CJ has caught corrupt politicians by their tail so PPP jiayalas are feeling the heat. When was the last time our judiciary condemned a rich and powerful politician ? The present SC has not only condemned the rich and powerful it has thwarted government scams like NICL, RPP, , BoP etc and saved billions from loot. Simple tactic adopted by the government is discredit our independent judiciary by defying their orders and launching mudslinging through touts like Babar Awan. We must fully back our SC in its stand against this corrupt crime syndicate aka government.
Standing behind the Supreme Court in respect can not and must NOT be misconstrued or falsely claimed backing an individual or a bunch of them. Individuals are not and have never ever been indespensible anywhere, anytime. They come and go and their being or not being is realy irrelevant, but our Supreme Court must be truly made a ‘House of Trust’ and a ‘Tower of Justice’ and fair play. In my view the present occupiers of this august institution have lost their credibility as well as integrity, they have made themselves much too politicised and ordinary people view them as either pro or against one or other. This just can not be and the situation must be corrected fast before our Supreme Court is also perceived and laughed at as a ‘Thana’ and the Justices as constables (with the ill-repute a constble has) and its Chief as the ‘Thanedar’ that he truly looks and has degenerated himself into. The lawyers must force a review judiciously if we ever are going to trust the old doctrine of “Due Process” and justice being blind.

The biggest blunder of the CJ is NO to President Musharraf and that’s the only reason why CJ is so unpopular among the masses. People of Pakistan blames all the miseries they are going through; post Musharraf era is because of Iftikhar Chaudhery.
Iftikhar ch and the lawyers’ movement + shameless politicians has plunged Pakistan into darkness.
People are rightly questioning after seeing the performance of present PPP govt.that what was wrong with Pervez Musharraf rule
What is the exact date of NRO? I feel when Musharraf was blocked by the Lawyers’ Movement and CJ he was left with no option but to go for NRO as suggested by Ch. Shujat
Jiyalas are leveling unfounded & baseless allegations against our honorable judiciary by calling it ‘politicised’. Zardari and his mafia have already politicized this issue and if they had even a shred of evidence to substantiate their accusations, they would have leaked it to the media. PPP runs a huge propaganda/media house to leak such evidence.
Leveling such baseless accusations means the accuser has blind loyalty to a party.

Ch Shujat of lota league was party to NRO. Just to counter your ’spin’, NRO took 2-3 years to get finalized — the process started much before 2007. NRO was brokered by USA in consultation with Musharraf, Benazir and others to protect American interests for a moderate regime that could follow directives from the US. Your lame attempt of absolving Mushy isn’t going to help. He was a loyal d@g of Americans and danced to the tune of Washington.
Hats off to the CJ who said no to dictator and his generals. Your dictator had absolutely no right to threat CJ to resign.

Courts decide on law not morals. There was no court decision against PCO 1 which was also later legalized under 17th amendment.

YOu’ve no point. Nobody is saying CJ is flawless and NOBODY in our country is.However, his past is irrelevant because he redeemed himself since he stood up to a dictator and invalidated Nov 3 actions.
