@AOM

FYI, I was used to be an ardent fan of Musharraf and his policies but now I despise him, the reason he handed over my beloved country to looters and self-centered people.

Secondly, I don't agree with your statement regarding Dr. Aafia, first and foremost she was not expelled from Pakistan, in fact she was kidnapped and subsequently handed over to Americans.

Thirdly, if the reference against CJOP was according to Pakistan's constitution then why he (Musharraf) surrendered ?

For the opponenets of Musharraf,

The decisions and actions taken by Musharraf and his regime against Lal mosque terrorists and Akbar Bugti etc., were surely not to gain any personal gains but in the interest of Pakistan. This is enough to prove Musharraf's integrity and loyality to his motherland.

As far as Aafia Siddiqui is concerned, she is a US citizen and her brother is still living in America enjoying all the privileges. America has every right to demand any country for expelling its citizens to US for whatever reasons; same way as Pakistan demanded US for expulsion of Admiral Mansoor ul Haq and now demanding Hamesh Khan of Punjab Bank (and he is due to arrive Pakistan).

Lastly the reference against CJOP was perfectly as per Pakistan Constitution. The irony is Chaudhry Iftikhar (the so called Champion of Justice) has stopped the trial against himself and yet he has to prove himself innocent against the alleged charges labelled in the judicial reference.

Here is why I support Musharraf
He brought stability and progress to Pakistan
Pakistan's economy was the 3rd fastest growing economy after China & India in 2006.
The IT industry, which was virtually non-existent seven years ago, has grown to be worth billion of which billion is export related. It registered a 50% growth. 55 foreign IT companies have already entered the market. Now the sector employed 90,000 professionals.
Under Musharraf , Pakistan has been called the best place to invest in Asia
He asked the world to promote Pakistan through investments –
“That when you trade, when you enhance your trade and come for investment in Pakistan , you are contributing towards job creation. Therefore you are contributing towards unemployment reduction and poverty alleviation. And therefore, you are contributing in the long run to the root cause of striking against terrorism and extremism.” President Musharraf.
He beleived in moving forward and always put Pakistan First in all his desicions

"At this critical juncture, Pakistan needs the continuity of successful policies. Not a myopic hustle for individual powers.”President Musharraf.

He is a national leader .and not a provincal one.He worked ceaselessly for the whole of Pakistan.

The plight of Balochistan was highlighted and its grievances addressed for first time during President Musharraf’s rule.
“I want Balochistan should be powered upward in every aspect so that it comes in competition with other Provinces"
Many Firsts in the history of Balochistan:
First time a General is made from Balochistan. Maximum number of roads constructed in Balochistan Coastal Highway from Karachi linking Gawadar with Rado Dero in Sind .
Gwadar Port and Gwadar Project have been started.
Water Project started in Quetta – Kutchi Canal irrigating Balochistan – Mirani Dam, etc.
Khaleefah Oil Refinery.
The recruitment of Balochs in Pakistan Army has been increased.

He promoted the softer image of Pakistan and did his utmost to soften the image of the fundamentalists and Islamists Pakistan through the promotion of arts and cultural activities, opening of various T.V channels, freedom of Press and etc

Musharrafs Pakistan
“My vision of a strong, vibrant, stable and moderate Pakistan , playing an effective role in the world is based on my faith in the people of Pakistan . If we stay on the course, I am confident that the desired results can and will be achieved. Let us together make Pakistan a better place to live in and bequeath a stronger country to our current and future generations.’’

He empowered the women. Thanks to his policies we see an increase in the number of women in the parliaments.
17% seats reserved for women in Senate, National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies. Representation in local governments increased to a minimum 33% Women are at liberty to contest elections on general seats as well.

Promotion of Information Technology and Telecom Sector which is providing Pakistan with several thousand jobs every year to the young unemployed engineering and electronic graduates. Explosion of Internet and easy and affordable access to telecommunication. Obviously had he not invited foreign investment we would be lagging behind.
He freed the media and the number of tv channels which came into being are a witness to this.what distinguishes him from other leaders is that he has the courage to admit his failures and listen to criticisms in public forums by media and other so called experts.
Under Musharraf , Pakistan has been called the best place to invest in Asia
Musharraf symbolises the hope for a bright future. For me it means not to give up on my beautiful land whatever the odds and whatever it takes.

“We need to continue developing the economic opportunity that will give these young people the hope and encouragement to persuade them not to fall pry to extremist rhetoric, but rather work productively towards a future, that will benefit them and Pakistan as a whole.”
He beleived in moving forward and always put Pakistan First in all his desicions
