The Decoy Pullout

By Afshain Afzal • Feb 6th, 2010 • Category: Politics • No Responses

Indian Defence Minister AK Antony recently announced that pull out of 30,000 troops from occupied Jammu & Kashmir state. Although there are no signs of on ground move but a brigade of Indian agents have started infiltrating into Pakistani territories to harness fifth columnists to start their campaign. The people across the Line of Control (LoC) are eagerly waiting for the Indian troops to start marching out of the occupied areas. Those who understand the motives of Kashmiris, who are carrying out ‘Jihad’ against India aggression in occupied Jammu & Kashmir state would bear out that if Indian government takes positive steps like pulling out of the troops, there would be end to hostilities to much extent. Kashmiris living across LoC also expect Indian security forces to denounce atrocities, excesses and rape attempt of Kashmiris. The incident at Shopian in which two young girls were raped and later murdered by Indian security forces is a classical example of Indian high headedness as despite doctors and witnesses confirmation of rape and murder, the Indian Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) gave a clean chit to the culprits rather opened cases against doctors, witnesses who spoke the truth.

Keeping in view India’s past record, there is very little hope that reduction of troops would be carried out. In fact, the Indian propaganda of pullout is to impress upon international community to pressurize Pakistan to remove its troops deployed against India and move them at borders with Afghanistan to fight the Taliban. India need to understand that Pakistan cannot move a single troop deployed against India unless India comes to negotiating table and ensure to implement United Nations resolution on Jammu & Kashmir issue. Pakistan also wants US, the European Union and China join hands to force India to resolve Kashmir issue at the earliest. Ironically, few years back Pakistan was refusing to hold talks with India unless Kashmir issue was on the top of agenda while India was eager to talk to Pakistan. Today, India doubts about the Composite Dialogue Process with Pakistan. Pakistan’s insistence on dialogue with India on Kashmir basically resolves around India’s claim that after Simla Accord, all matters would be solved through bilateral talks. India should not forget that if New Delhi avoids dialogue for a long time, Pakistan would be forced to approach International Court of Justice or other available options.

It is quite disturbing to note that US agencies are trying to create misunderstanding between India and Pakistan. It is on record that CIA and FBI had have been misguiding India that terrorist groups like the Lashkar-e-Tayyiaba (LeT) and the Harkat-ul-Jihad-e-Islami (HUJI), which operate against India in occupied Jammu and Kashmir state, are able to travel, raise funds, communicate, train and plan operations with seemingly little interference.  The US Intelligence is pressurizing India to believe that there exist links between David Coleman Headley and retired Pakistani military officers and Government officials who have given free hand to these groups in Pakistan.  One fails to understand the double game being played by western powers as they are well aware of the fact that Kashmir is the root cause of tense relation between India and Pakistan.  US is continuously giving warning signals to New Delhi that next terrorist strike will take place from Pakistani soil and target would be India’s nuclear or IT installations or it would involves hostage taking of schoolchildren as the Chechens terrorists did in Beslan.

In the past, whenever Indian or Pakistani government make an attempt to hold talks to settle Kashmir issue, some invisible hands sabotage the peace process. In all these years we have never tried to find out black sheep in our own files, who acts on the behalf of US, Britain and Israel as their agents. Occupied Jammu and Kashmir puppet Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s is trying his level best to bring economic development in the state so that Kashmiris may give up their right of self determination. In the same regard, a loan of Rupees 2500 crore has been secured for infrastructure development from Asian Development Bank (ADB). The conspiracy of dividing Andhra Pradesh and establishment of Telagana as separate state is in fact also linked with occupied Jammu and Kashmir state. As per the plan, it was expected that once Telegana acquires the status of separate state, other states would also follow the same path.   India is hopeful that after seeing on ground development of Rupees 2500 crore, Kashmiris may give of their struggle for independent in favour of separate state under the Indian union. India is living in fool’s paradise if it believes that Kashmiris are waging Jihad to attain independence from Indian yoke due to economic reasons. The authorities in India should avoid repeating outdated experiments and must give a serious thought to solve Kashmir problem once for ever.
