Dear Raj and Friends,

I am aware of the writings of Air Marshal Nur Khan’s that you like to call it a truthful version of 1965. I am also aware of it that many of my friends here may not agree with me ---with the suggestion to give an important portfolio like Defence Ministry in the government to the Military to whom we like to label them as ---- Dictators of the past.

But reality in the life on the ground is always found different than the common bookish cliché that we may like to paste on it. This is hard reality and fact that Pak Military has been ruling this nation for more than half of the time of its entire life--- but they have been doing it-- in sincerity. Of course a change is there in the air but they may not like to go off the scene humiliated. They ought not be given an impression also that they will be left out as defunct—and down trodden power hungry lot.

Wisdom must prevail and Military be given a send off with due respect and it should be done in steps; step by step. Factor of face saving at their departure must be duly considered. After all---Musharraf handed over his powers very willingly but alas he was not betrayed by the taking over lot----in giving him a safe exit out that they agreed with him.

Dear Hassan Amin,

I did tell you that these Indian stooges are the time wasters. Whatever courtesy that you show to receive them as visitor that we respect them as our visitors; Mehmaan but they take it as our weakness. These Indian outcasts they appear here only to divert our attention from our original themes. Mudslinging is their nature and hurling of abuse is their habit. Please ignore these parasites.

In India they happen to be 'most oppressed', 'broken' and 'crushed' people to the extent of losing their original identity as human. Some of them may not be out casts but being weary of their restricted society that they are not allowed to say a word on their own webs and when they find a freedom to express on our webs. They go out of their pyjamas and cannot hide their inner hatred toward our dream land----Pakistan. 62 year have come to pass and they have not accepted Pakistan sovereignty?

I have yet to find an Indian Hindu except one or two old friends from far end-Kalkata,--- all have been found exhaling their fumes of hatred and spitting venom toward our country. Not a single word of welcome.

They do’nt know or have forgotten that we are the Muslims. We are the adventurists who are made to rule the world. They know it and they do fear a lot. There all the hatred shown-- comes out of this fear. We have been ruling this India and certainly will again be there.

Anyhow---I feel really sorry for them.

That's only an eyewash to appease the extremists!

Come on dude why are Indians like you hellbent on portraying us as your enemy. Honestly speaking, I never want any destruction of India. I never think bad about India, because it is the land of my ancestors. I still yearn to visit India someday, to see my relatives there. And there are countless here who think like me. But it hurts when some Indians like you make obnoxious remarks about our country, our nation. Every country has its shortcomings but that in no way justifies a blanket condemnation for an entire nation.

We are living in the 21st century. Haven't we learnt enough from history? What have we gained from our wars? Our people are among the most poorest in the world. According to UN, half of the world's poorest like in India. And the situation isn't good either in Pakistan. Can't we divert the resources that we waste on war games towards the development of our people?

Think positively dude! Build new bridges, instead of blasting the existing ones.

The author writes : “It is evident that our Military has also attained good skills and mastery in civil affairs”..

Military is supposed to master civil affairs? What a pity!

About the wars, each and every one of them was started by pakistani army!

here is a Dwan column on Air Marshal Nur Khan’s truthful version of 1965 war:

http://www.dawn.com/2005/09/06/nat2.htm

EXCERPTS (CUT AND PASTE, NOT EDITED!!!) :

“The performance of the Army did not match that of the PAF mainly because the leadership was not as professional. They had planned the ‘Operation Gibraltar’ for self-glory rather than in the national interest. It was a wrong war. And they misled the nation with a big lie that India rather than Pakistan had provoked the war and that we were the victims of Indian aggression”, Air Marshal Khan said.

“This would have held the hands of the adventurers who followed Gen Ayub. Since the 1965 war was based on a big lie and was presented to the nation a great victory, the Army came to believe its own fiction and has used since, Ayub as its role model and therefore has continued to fight unwanted wars — the 1971 war and the Kargil fiasco in 1999, he said.”

“In each of the subsequent wars we have committed the same mistakes that we committed in 1965″.
