The 60 year Honeymoon ends with the arrival of Obama
By Guest Blogger • Feb 16th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 6 CommentsDuring Operation searchlight in Bangladesh,1971 Archer Kent Blood, an American diplomat in Bangladesh sent a strongly worded telegram to Richard Nixon and Kissinger criticizing the Pakistani military for its involvement in the killing of the members of the AWAMI league.Surprisingly, the Americans who normally take up the issues of freedom and democracy very seriously recalled him back to the U.S and ignored the issue altogether.
Successive American presidents have used Pakistan as a proxy against
India in the Cold war days.But things slowly seem to be changing.Yesterday, Pakistan lodged an FIR against suspects involved in 26/11.For the past 2 months and even for the past few days, Pakistan seemed to be denying all allegations made by India.And then the sudden U-turn.All of a sudden the Pakistani authorities accepted that Qasab was a Pakistani and have even asked for his DNA samples.Why this sudden change of mind?
The new administration in the United States has had enough of Pakistan`s flip flop on 26/11.Clearly, the no non-sense Barrack Obama doesnt seem to be in mood for this.George W Bush treated Pakistan with a silver spoon but it is not going to be the same with the new administration.The U.S also knows that Pakistan`s economy is on life support.Since 1948,Pakistan had the support of both China and the U.S.But this is also starting to change.With the U.S,EU and the rest of the world looking at India as a business partner,Pakistan will have a tougher time pushing its agenda.
I agree that the issue of Kashmir is contentious.I am of the opinion that a plebiscite should have been conducted in 1948.I sympathize with Pakistan and also believe that India has been unjust to Pakistan in the matter of Kashmir.But the killing of innocent civilians by terrorists under the name of Azadi cannot be tolerated.The Pakistani dream of bleeding India to death with the help of these terrorists is just a dream.India is just too big militarily and economically.Now Pakistan minus the American support will find it even more harder to do so.

The things mentioned here will make them think that India and Indians hate and does not want Pakistan to prosper, which is not true and not what India or Indians want.

Pakistan has sustained so long just because of the money following from US and China. Now with the money not coming in they are facing the heat.
The politicians in Pakistan just taking away the money and filling their bank accounts, same is true with the army also.

Pakistan is NO EXCEPTION.
But the DESTINY of a nation is determined by the intellect of its PEOPLE.

All the politicians are hungry for money and power but at the same time for them to earn more money they choose the path of developing the country so that more people will come in to do business and they can earn more.
But here in this case that is not the matter, as politicians here just want to fill the pockets with whatever there is as they are sure and aware that some person from army might take control of things and their chance of eating away will be lost.
The honey moon is just started. American needs Pakistan now more than ever. Afghanistan is the biggest nightmares of america in their entire history.Americans and Britain military commanders yelled several times to their bosses, plz talk to Pakistan, ” we are loosing the war”
Without Pakistan america will surrender in Afghanistan and american soldiers will be taken as war prisoners. You can better be a war prisoner in california then in Afghanistan.
