Terrorist Won : Islamabad Becomes Non Family Station
By Muskan Hina • Oct 10th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 8 CommentsWell, the terrorist all across the tribal belt and elsewhere must be patting themselves on the back while having a ball out there as the United Nations and other foreign missions and embassies windup their businesses and affairs in the country and cutting down on the personnel while calling back the families from Pakistan.
One cannot really blame the foreigners to get scared after the attacks on the resturants, embassies, visa centers, and then Marriott Hotel to scrap up their workings in the country. Then there are news of abduction of Chinese and Polish engineers in the country. One hardly could expect from them to stand by the Pakistani people in these critical times, but then the families and assets of our own leaders reside in America, Dubai or London and Spain.
Many diplomatic missions, including the UK, have also reduced staff presence on the ground in Pakistan, conducting visa operations from Dubai to cut down on personnel posted in the country. Though UK has announced to open up the centers in Lahore and Karachi, they are going to keep bare minimum staff of British Nationals, and they are not ready to operate from Islamabad.
The most beautiful, serene and tranquil city of Pakistan; Islamabad has become a ghost. It’s really agonizing to see that such a beauty has become horrible. Islamabad is now being termed as equivalent to the Kabul and the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu, by the UN, which has declared the city unsafe for the children of some 100 non-Pakistani nationals employed by it in the country.
Pakistani children will remain in the Islamabad.
