Terrorism Confusion in Pakistan Receding

By Fatima Tassaduq • Sep 14th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 3 Comments

Just some months back, if you would have tried to take a sampling from crowd at any public place as what they thought about the terrorism in Pakistan, you would have got disparate and confusing statements. One of the biggest issues in getting such sampling together was manifest at the outset when, like the famous story of 6 blind men and the elephant, everyone had a different “feel” for what terrorism actually was.

People were confused as they didn’t want to call Islam and Jehad bad, and they didn’t want to retify the US occupation of Afghanistan and it’s interference in the Pakistan. At that time, people even didn’t consider Taliban an enemy despite of the situation in the country. With the surge in suicide attacks, weakening of the country, gaping dangers to the survival, and the way Taliban abused the name of Shariah in Malakand and the way they carried out blasts in different cities of Pakistan, the mist got cleared.

Now most of the Pakistanis are pretty much sure that the Taliban are terrorists and they must be eliminated. The relief waves felt throughout Pakistan upon the death of Baitullah Mehsud and upon the success of operation in Swat and the arrest of many Taliban leaders and the end of suicide attacks in Pakistan, is clear indication that now Pakistanis know about their enemy.

Still Pakistanis don’t like American occupation in Afghanistan and the news about Blackwater or Xe, but they also abhor the very notion of Taliban.

  1. Dont worry we have got rid of stone age taliban culture who were supplied by modern arms by our army and now we are experimenting on new type of terrorism with Xe module and drone attack technology. As soon as they establish their bases we would face new kind of state disturbances, another form of experiment in field of terrorism ,will be presented in our soil,

  2. Pakistan public got mentaly brainwashed by the Mullas, with thoughtless ideologies, and the Middle class remained quiet, thinking this nightmare will go away,But then it became a monster, now we have to fight it,America is not to be blamed, it is the concieted leaders and inncocent (or foolish) people of Pakistan. The sensibles and moderats had taken a step back, and want to wait. Now the house is on fire.

  3. Mullah can only brain washed illiterate class. educated class is harassed by show of gun who somehow trusted these gunmen to gave them good governance but all have been failed.House are usually fired by mistakes of owner or negligence of people who are responsible of its security,
Talibans are by product of our army intelligence and same blunder is being repeated and allowing bases to US marines in our congested cities and critical areas of Pakistan.
Every body knows that weak team of NRO is not in position to allow Xe without the consent of GHQ.
So what are in the minds of these authoritarians characters are still not clear but in straight game it is not fair to allow these suspicious paid killers to intrude in our critical areas.
