Dr. sheerin is 100% in correct. Cuba is only enjoying his policies. they dont treat well with pakistanies an they are bieing treated like beggars . they have been kept in new programme of formation of doctors
and were bieing trained as paramedics, there was no teaching hospital provided to them. The all pakistanies went on strike and deligatinoi came from pakistan and finally they were shifted to provicial institutes named sagua la grande y santa clara. But cubans as a reaction sent back 15 pakistani students i personaly know some of them by a fully targeted miltary action . The pakistani nation was dihonoured completly . i live near old capmpus of pakistani... as i cant talk here we r supressed like slves but i can send videos in which pakistanies r bieing maltreated... The pakistani students are on right way to save thier future . i request dr sheerin not to overstep without seeing the truth. my native language is spanish so never mind errors of english

Dr Mazhari,
I agree with you completely. When UK, Australia are treating our youth as cannon fodder, it is countries like Cuba who have shown what is called altruism. For once I AGREE WITH YOU COMPLETELY.
Cubans are great not only in health care but they are the best in world in BOXING, and you will not believe Basketball.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We in India love Castro but the babus in external affairs are so afraid of Uncle sam, they will not even employ boxing coaches from Cuba.

For the first and probably only time, I agree with Dr. Mazari that Pakistan and Cuba should increase their co-operation.
But I fail to see any American 'conspiracy' in the issue of medical students.

You made a fair point, but have you actually thought about how it might affect other people? I'm not saying you're wrong, I just desire to identify that there is more than 1 side to this story.

I tried my best to extract out the gist of the matter from this article. What I understand that after Kashmir earthquake Cuba, as a gesture of friendship and human relationship offered 1000 Pakistani students medical education scholarships, which has angered USA – so far so good, let them be angry. Anger is one of the natural habits of human being. After all, the authoress found out a way to express her anger on USA through Pakistani medical students scholarships in Cuba. Since I didn’t read any news (I am sorry for that) what sort of resentment American government has shown on this issue I am unable to comment. It would have been easier for laymen like me to understand it fully if Dr. Shireen Mazari had given the specific text of American reaction.

However period however, I understand this offer was made by Cuba for Kashmiris; I would like to know, if ever Pakistani students were sent to Cuba under this offered program, how many out of them were Kashmiris and how many non-Kashmiris? Just curious!

Further reading of this valuable article, it transpired that not less than 100 countries’ medical students are studying medicine in Cuba and its degree is internationally recognized – that’s better than nothing. If some people or organizations are skeptic to Cuban degree, let them be. However, if Dr. Shireen thinks that this skepticism is on the behest of Americans; well I am sorry, this is more than fiction.

About Guantanamo Bay, the same was sold to USA long before Castro. Thanks to nine eleven, this bay is not only naval base, it is welcome place for some Pakistanis and other muslim countries’ citizens. I hope they are well taken of there.

There are reasons for American enmity with their neighbor island Cuba. Elephant’s memory is sharp. How can they forget when Khrushchev sent ships full of missiles to be installed in Cuba that meant for targeting American strategic points.

I would request Dr. Shirieen to take it easy, USA is villain, nobody denies that fact. There are many other bad wishers of Pakistan. However, if we keep our house clean and protected like China did, nothing bad is going to happen to Pakistan.

Our budget is based on American aids and IMF loans, our defense is dependent on American supplies of arms and ammunitions, in nut shell we are not standing on our feet. Yet, our so called academic people and politicians are cursing bloody America. In every fault of ours, the Pakistani Sherlock Holmes searches out American conspiracy. Why our neighbor India can say NO to Americans. Just because their political system is intact from the word go, their economical system is sound, therefore, no American or any other country’s for that matter can make inroads.

It would have been fitness of the matter if the authoress in spite of lashing out on USA would have suggested ways and means to keep clean and protected our own house. Criticism without suggestions is baseless.
