After setting FATA and Swat on fire, the invisible hands are now busy with all concentration to burn the Dera Ismail Khan area and it’s nearby cities like Hangu and the adjacent tribal areas. Just like FATA and Swat, the Dera Ismail Khan seems to be falling free in the hands of terrorists. The hurling of hand grenade on  a mosque and firing of rockets in the main city neighborhoods is the latest evidence of this.

City by city, we are loosing control and the most weakest thing seems to be the writ of the government. Our adversaries are having field day as they have nothing to do prove that Pakistan is one of the most dangerous and precarious places to live. It seems that even from the heart of our sensitive cities like Hangu and Dera Ismail Khan and Quetta, terrorists are gaining strength and operating at will.

The terrorists are now exploiting the sectarian rift between Shia and Sunni in the Dera and Hangu areas. Tribes of tribes are now busy in fighting with each other at the outskirts of these cities while using heavy weapons. That shows the primitive nature of these areas and exposes the non-existent writ of the government.

It goes without saying that something must be done to end this swift descent into anarchy. The rulers in Islamabad the Beautiful must wake up to the reality that it is in danger of becoming a state with no writ anywhere outside Islamabad. They must not let tribes fall into the hands of terrorists. First government must use its political offices to estabish a cemented truce between the tribes, then it should form a jirga comprising of shia and sunni elders with sound and swift communication and then it must pounce hard on the terrorists, anti-social elements and the miscreants.
