Taliban Leadership Perishes : Too Good to be True

By Shayan Khan • Aug 9th, 2009 • Category: Politics • No Responses

Killing of Baitullah Mehsud, the ruthless chief of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, and also the death of Qari Hussain, another heavy weight terrorist of TTP in the Drone Attack near Makeen district. Then the clash between Taliban commanders and killing of more leaders.

TTP’s Shura meeting was underway to appoint successor of Baitullah Mehsud after his reported killing in S Waziristan when the clash erupted between two groups of Hakimullah Mehsud and Wali-ur-Rehman, media sources said. Reports said an important commander of TTP was killed in the incident while the state TV has reported that TTP commander Hakimullah Mehsud was killed in the clash.

These back-to-back news of terrorist killing each other and the death of head honcho Baitullah are way too unexpected. Lots of Drone attacks and countless operations have failed to eliminate the terrorist leaders. Now all of a sudden, at least four top leaders are reported to be killed. wow, that’s some sort of dream.

We do wish that this is true.
