Karachi is considered as the financial and entertainment capital of Pakistan . It is also strategically situated city of Pakistan suiting the countrys business and commercial interests.
Pakistan s unit of the Taliban, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has said that their next area for expanding its operations was Karachi.
According to Tehreek-e-Taliban foreign enemies were setting their sight at Karachi , as it had become countrys economic lifeline. Talibans presence in Karachi will make it safe and bring peace to the city.
They also said that the Taliban were present everywhere in the country and were the real heirs of Pakistan .
                                       "Safe Karachi from Talibanisation"

I really do not know what it takes to defeat a terrorist organization. Terrorism in general, however, is even more difficult because it has been around for a very long time, and so will continue regardless of how many terrorist organizations we do eliminate. There is still hope--terrorist organizations do die off...we just have to be ready to deal with the next generation.

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for a number of suicide attacks which more recently have turned to civilian targets.

The militants under baitullah Mehsud(TIT) wanted ANP government removed. Why? Why they fear HOTI more than anybody? It is basically a clique in central government which is covertly supporitng this move of baitullah. People even say he is creation of RAW. I think Pakistanies are giving more credit to it by this accusation.
His action of torching girl schools, CD shops etc show he is actually in the grip of SAUDI ARABIA and the Wahabies who owe alligiance to the Arab Taliban who have come as fighters during Soveit rule in afghanistan and now married and settled in Frontier areas. Musharaff wanted them to go back to their countries which are already in grip of USA.they have no other go than fight for self survival even if it means pakistan army.
