By Zeenat Rehman • Oct 3rd, 2011 • Category: Politics

There is no doubt that the late Salman Taseer was a big mouth careless person who showed extreme carelessness during the Asia Bibi blasphemy issue, and his followed up statements were also not careful and hurt many throughout the Muslim-dominated society of Pakistan.
But that doesn’t allow anybody to take law into his or her hand. [...]

Seal Your Lips or Pack Your Bags

By Asad ur Rehman • Mar 18th, 2011 • Category: Politics

Any one who is advocate of Aasia Bibi or who is against the illegal use of Blasphemy laws has been yet again warned by fanatics to either seal the lips or face the consequences. And the consequence is no less than loss of life.

The second advocate of Aasia Bibi has been brutally murdered right in the center of our mesmeric capital Islamabad and he is no other but the Minister of Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti. While another advocate Javed Ghamidi has already left the country to save his life after death threats. I wish that this don’t grow further and there should be no further loss of life. I don’t have words to say on this brutal murder.

One may say that the governor of Punjab Salman Taseer and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi of PML-Q have started a smearing campaign against the PML-N and the government of Shahbaz Sharif in punjab, but the fact that the government of Punjab has shown so far lack of interest in combating the terrorism holds water.
Every month, terrorists [...]

By Shayan Khan • May 27th, 2010 • Category: Politics

If we believe all the talk-shows and the analysis put forth by the colorful experts in the newspapers and blogs, the government of PPP is sure to go within months if not weeks. With that, there would be no cleanliness in the toilets of the governor house in Lahore, and the stench would cripple the [...]

Prima Facie: Govt To Collide With Judiciary

By Salman Mugsi • Jan 15th, 2010 • Category: Politics

One of the lessons of the history is that it repeats itself and the other one is that no one learns from it.
