Sunny Polling Day : Honey Voters Come Out

By Ghazala Khan • Feb 18th, 2008 • Category: Pakistan Vote'08, Politics, Worth A Second Look • 7 Comments

It’s a beautiful sunny day. Full of promises, hope and fragrance of change. Just over one paklive1 hour remains while the polling stations are still open to welcome us to perform our national duty. Pakistan is calling us. Our mother is calling us. Our duty is calling us. We have to come out. We cannot remain at home and watch television or just sleep or enjoy the holiday.

I request you to please come out, vote and then enjoy and pray. Pray for the safety and security of our beautiful land. We have to save it from the scourge of terrorism, from the scourges of shortages of flour, power, gas and other basic necessities of life. We have to rise, and we have to deliver.

Benevolent nature has given us a new chance. Thanks Allah, there is no suicide attack today, and there is no major incident. Everything is calm and serene and voters are thronging the polling stations. We are waiting for those who are still unsure about their duty.

Please come and vote.

  1. Very good post Ghazala.

  2. I just polled my vote, and there was tremendous rush of voters, there.

  3. It wasnt so honey for Nisar Khoro though :) I reckon it was his first slap of life.

  4. Even the turnout was great in tribal area. People thronged the polling stations there amidst the threats of terrorism. This shows how much they yearn for the change.

  5. Government worked hard this time to ensure safety as they did in Moharram, and this shows that if only gov wants things can remain secure and safe. Poltical parties also showed tolerance.

  6. Ok, honey, I am going to vote now. :)

  7. And Vote to??
