Pakistan Media Regulation Authority PEMRA has banned 43 illegal channels from the cable and a stringent action has  been taken against the cable operators. These channels include all the Indian channels like Star Plus, SONY, and host of others.

These channels are on air for years now in Pakistan, and now the cable operators say that government has banned these channels just to threaten and harrass the cable operators and government through PEMRA wants to put pressure on the cable operators, because the overwhelming majority of people just watch cable due to those channels.

This is true, because the star plus dramas and shows are popular in Pakistan, and people prefer them over the Pakistani channels. Now people don’t even watch the news channel because they only spread the frustration and anarchy, and to relax the only option for the people was to see these channels, but its no more.

This will only increase the frustration.
