Scottish Overseas Research Students Award Scheme (SORSAS) 2010,

The University of Edinburgh, UK

The SORSAS, funded by the Scottish Funding Council, is designed to attract high quality research students to Scottish Universities. The awards are open to overseas students undertaking a research degree and may be held in any field of study. Each award covers the difference between the tuition fee for a UK/EU graduate student and that chargeable to an overseas graduate student. The awards do not cover maintenance expenses. Subject to satisfactory progress, the awards are tenable for up to three years.

Scottish Overseas Research Student Awards Scheme (SORSAS) 2010,

The University of Aberdeen, King’s College, Aberdeen, UK

The SORSAS was set up to attract high quality international studies to the UK to undertake research. The scheme is open to overseas students undertaking a research degree in any area of study. The awards provide funding to pay the difference between the overseas rate of tuition fees and the home/EU rate of tuition fees. The awards DO NOT cover the home/EU fee element, maintenance or travel expenses. New awards are granted annually, on a competitive basis, to overseas postgraduate research students of outstanding academic ability and research potential.

Pakistani Undergraduate Scholarship

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UK

There are three Pakistani Undergraduate Scholarships available for those starting an undergraduate programme in 2010/11. Each scholarship has a value of £20,000 and is renewable, subject to satisfactory academic performance, for the second and third years of study. The scholarship has been established to assist those who would have difficulty attending LSE without financial support.

College of Humanities and Social Science Research Student Awards 2010-2011

The University of Edinburgh, UK

The College Development Studentship is an extension of the current College Studentship. Successful applicants will receive a stipend and will in return provide some measure of support to their School. This work will be chosen to enhance the studentship holder’s academic development. Applicants are automatically considered for both awards. Subject to satisfactory progress, the awards are tenable for up to three years. The College of Humanities and Social Science is now seeking applications for the 2010-2011 academic sessions.
