Some PPP Leaders Enjoy Salman Taseer’s Humiliation

With the picture-showing of dancing daughter of Salman Taseer and his son’s beach pictures with nude women by the Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan have started fresh fights between the PPP and PML(N), but strangely enough the reaction from the PPP leaders is not aggressive and it’s very much tepid, and it seems that very few people in Punjab are ready to seriously and gravely defend their governor.

Senior Minister Raja Riaz of Pakistan People’s Party has protested against PML-N and said he would lodge a formal protest with Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif in this regard on his return, but his posture was very smiling and polite and during press conference it was felt that he was enjoying himself. He also said that due to such mud slinging the coalition was not in danger and he was sure that after talking to the chief minister Punjab, everything will be alright and nothing such thing would happen in the future.

In defense of the governor, Raja Riaz held a belated press conference. Others present at the occasion including PPP Federal Council members Ziaullah Khan Bangash, Matloob Warraich, Aurangzeb Burki, Ex-MPA Samiullah Khan and the Lahore chapter president Aziz Chan also spoke in defence of the governor. However, they did not hide their sentiments regarding the governor.

President of party, Asif Ali Zardari has preferred Salman Taseer over many stalwarts of the party in Punjab. Zardari ignored many big names in Punjab and selected Salman Taseer for the governorship though Taseer was very active in favoring Pervez Musharraf and was a caretaker minister. Salman Taseer doesn’t enjoy much support even within party and his only qualification to become governor is his friendship with Zardari.
