Though I have to disagree with you as I've found the entire Davis Bloome/Doomsday storyline very intriguing. While the seeds were being planted for other storylines (i.e. Zatanna, Chloe's transformation to Watchtower, the introduction of Bruno Manheim which should ultimately lead to intergang etc) I have just loved the way Doomsday's been portrayed and the character of Davis Bloome. One would have thought after Lex Luthor departed that the show wouldnt have a credible negative character, but Sam Witwer has put on a hell of a performance as Davis. As for the other storylines I mentioned above, its true that another series can accomodate the Intergang and the Justice League, or even the Legionnaires. I guess only time will tell as to what happens. The only thing I might disappointed with in this season is that after Lana, the presumed focus that was to be for Lois has NOT happened. This really does degrade the character's credibility a lot and if Lois Lane is supposed to be a huge factor for the future, then obviously its not working this season as it should be.
