Smallville continuation-Has the show dragged on for too long?
By Javed Akram • May 11th, 2009 • Category: Entertainment • 2 CommentsBeing a smallville fan,
I can tell you its getting boring.I have been a fan of the series since the beginning and have argued passionately (yes i am a passionate person and me and my friends like to discuss) that the series should be continued but now i believe that people at CW(the ones who make smallville)are out of ideas.Comen on guys now Tess Mercer(the replacement for Lex luthor )is going to have some sort of powers or will she be controlled by some other entity as we saw in the latest episode. Will she be as fixated on Doomsday as Lex luthor was fixted on Clark.I think its time to call a spade a spade and Clark should either get rid of Doomsday or he should become superman.I mean when you think about it it,there is no sense in making anything more than there it is.I think clark should have his flying power back and the Justice league should be formed officially and then a new series of the justice league should be started..I strongly believe that the Superman franchise was save because of smallville because Clark Kent was shown in a different perspective. He was shown to have a human side.He was shown to have emotions and he was conflicted betwenn who he was and what he was destined to become but this has become too boring now and the series need either a fresh start or some new idea.I particularly liked this video which I saw on you tube.I personally think that The justice league would be a great idea.I dunt think it has been tried before. If you guys have any comments do tell me.

Its also worth mentioning that Tom Welling has signed on for season 9 so apparently Smallville isnt ending anytime soon. Though I have to disagree with you as I’ve found the entire Davis Bloome/Doomsday storyline very intriguing. While the seeds were being planted for other storylines (i.e. Zatanna, Chloe’s transformation to Watchtower, the introduction of Bruno Manheim which should ultimately lead to intergang etc) I have just loved the way Doomsday’s been portrayed and the character of Davis Bloome. One would have thought after Lex Luthor departed that the show wouldnt have a credible negative character, but Sam Witwer has put on a hell of a performance as Davis.
As for the other storylines I mentioned above, its true that another series can accomodate the Intergang and the Justice League, or even the Legionnaires. I guess only time will tell as to what happens. The only thing I might disappointed with in this season is that after Lana, the presumed focus that was to be for Lois has NOT happened. This really does degrade the character’s credibility a lot and if Lois Lane is supposed to be a huge factor for the future, then obviously its not working this season as it should be.
Also, after watching the recent episode, the anticipation for the Seaon Finale has started to grow already, as to how Clark will finally defeat his nemesis once and for all.
