With all disregard to the divine warnings served in the form of recent unpitying floods, my brothers are yet adamant to incur many more of the like. The ‘tale told by an idiot’ is not yet over and could continue probably until our mass annihilation in some more terrific calamity. The 28 Aug print media carries at least two more horrific accounts.

The first report relates to Kot Lakhpath Jail where parts of ‘human hand’ were found in the food cooked for the prisoners. The discovery was made when a prisoner found the human parts in the plate of food being served to him at Iftari. The condition of many more prisoners deteriorated and the rest went on strike. The (ir)responsible administration was quick enough to black-list the contractor supplying food to prisoners.

The other story is from Shujja Abad where an incident like that of Sialkot occurred when an influential feudal coined a novel way of brutality. He half buried a labourer in ground so that he should not be able to resist and tortured him to death. Later, his men exhumed the dead-body, dragged it all the way to police station and charged the deceased to be a dacoit killed in encounter. To be or not to be, that is the question.

  1. Day by day, we are experiencing these horrific incidents and the worst thing is that these are covered in a form acceptable to many.

Our society s deteriorating and we need to take some serious steps to handle this situation.

  2. This is lawlessness is at extreme, law enforcing agencies mainly Police are being bribed to keep their mouth shut, lust makes people do in-humane things, our Police in general is worst than prostitutes who sell their body n soul for money but our Police in Punjab n Sindh kills or let innocent people be killed, fake encounters to kill people after taking bribes is a routine. For people there is no quick justice, they have to go to Police first to register an FIR even if the crime is done by the Police, our system has a big flaw, there is no immediate n independent check point on Police. If media covers some thing, Court takes notice, chief minister comes in action. Our courts are full with criminal cases which are not even 20 percent of crimes reach the court as our Police always discourage crime reporting and an ordinary citizen with minimum means to survive can not handle court, lawyers and Police.

Extremely heart rending. I sometimes wonder, do we have any rights to point finger at our politicians and army. When as a nation we ARE corrupts. Therefore the corrupt masses deMOCKcratically elects the corrupt ones.

Thank you for bringing it on this forum.

I wish those who are exhuming after George and Fasi Zaka’s article, would shut up.

  4. Do we have a police? No we don’t. They are crooks, they are not police. Government supported crooks.

  5. Prof: Sb. May I ask you one simple & straight question to you as & when you point out or try Sketches horrible picture of this Lawless Society of Pakistan — Why don’t you present in Crystal Clear Words the Solution?

If you may read my comments here-at & other in different newspapers — you will find mine with full of STRESSED — Suggestion to Implement the Islamic Sharia Laws & Ruthless Accountability System.

Exactly. We should all be Momins and fight for Shariah… let’s convert the all World to Islamic Republic of World.

    Arz hai…

“Yehien hain Yehien hain pakarloo innay,

Mohammad ka kalma sikha du innay.”

  7. 1. Thankful to all the genuinely heavy-weight/ opinion-maker critics for their valued and insightful comments.
    2. As regard solution/ shariah, I had endorsed my opinion in same context somewhere else at TPS and I reproduce here just an extract thinking it to be of some relevance, if my friends agree. Otherwise, I would love to improver my humbleness with guidance of reviewers:

“As for your question on suggesting alternate of Islam, everyone knows there is none. . . . My only contention . . . was just the apprehension of our sabotaging the holy system of Khilafat since we have unfortunately degenerated to the level of ‘Aayam Jahiliat’ of pre-Islamic era. Don’t you think, we first need moral elevation, both collectively and individually, so as to get prepared for Khilafat polity. Please also educate me if Khilafat would succeed at the hands of the present day infidel-influenced/ opportunists if adopted without the requisite schooling. Already, our Pakistani brethren openly flout/ challenge the Holy Commandments, and more so with all pride and scholarly rationale. So, I propose character building and re-igniting the spark of Islam before we shift over to political change. For, example, do you think, our womenfolk would let you survive if you ask them to observe purdha according to Islam without first prepare them to do it voluntarily? Another point sir, our Holy Prophet (PBUH) established political system in latter years when he first had prepared the people to accept it.”

    3. We would be just living in a fool’s paradise if we expect a change where PM has fixed 15% share for release of flood funds, where the slot of municipality head (Chairman CDA) is sold for Rs 45 Crore, where a few opportunists defame the county’s image by fixing international cricket match just for a few pennies, besides many more heart-burnings.
    4. As for us (masses), we are being punished for our own deeds. In continuation of our hot temperature disposition (unique in the world), we recorded some more achievements on 29 Aug, summarized as following:
 At Lahore, some traders tortured to death a man accused of mobile snatching.
 At Sialkot, the journalist who had made filmed the lynching incident was given full
thrashing/ multiple fractures despite assurance of police protection.
 At Hyderabad, 4 persons were gunned down over a very pity issue.
 At Larkana, SPSF activists fired on relief goods caravan of PPP (SB) just over political
    gimmicks.
 At Sibi/Kashmore, police recovered a huge quantum of flood relief goods, being sold in
open market by NGO people tasked to distribute the same among affectees.
    5. “Phir bi dil hay Pakistani” and it is why we hope for solutions. No system changes, but volunteer/ individual behavioual change MIGHT repeat MIGHT bring some change though unlikely.

  8. AAM
Sir, I received your mail quite late and it was re-directed to my ID by some Dr Ismail. So, I had to reply through the incoming ID. I wonder if you have received it or not. Please make another attempt directly into my mail box so that we could share cell number etc and meet during your visit.

  9. I agree on ur deliberation on the issue of Khilafat system.
