Sherry Rehman : Lady Goebbels
By Salman Mugsi • Jul 5th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 7 CommentsPakistan’s Information Minister is an unelected representative is not something astonishing let alone abhorring, but the fact that she is proving to be the male version of Goebbels is certainly not much to boast about, and her vile machinations to portray the lies as truth and paint the black wall as white are as disgusting as anything.
She is one of the ardent supporter of Asif Ali Zardari and doesn’t think of Pakistan People’s Party any more or any less, and she is covering anything sorrounding Zardari from National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to the judges issue to the Pervez Musharraf’s future to the operation in FATA and not to forget the relations with the coalition partners.
Her cosmetics and chicness aside, the reality as tasteless as the makeup is rich, it’s the right of the workers of PPP to ask as what Sherry has done so far in making the mark of her late leader Benazir Bhutto, or her leader is Zardari? Naheed Khan, the veteran of PPP and loyalist of Benazir is right when she asks following questions, while talking to media:
(i) Where did the car accompanying the vehicle of Benazir Bhutto suddenly disappear a short while before the Liaqat Bagh bombing?
(ii) Why is the PPP government not registering an FIR against the accused nominated by Mohtarma?
(iii) Does the matter of validity of “will” of Benazir Bhutto await determination?
(iv) The nature of major decisions of Asif Zardari and are they genuinely supported by the PPP?
(v) What is the difference between the pattern of politics of Asif Zardari and Benazir Bhutto?
(vi) What will be the future of the PPP in the wake of the current opposition to restore judges?

‘whatever’ Mugsi, when you post something starting with disinformation, you loose complete credibility. Check the facts before putting down anything in writing. It seems you write faster than you can think. Now, let me try to hammer in this piece of info. about the lady - Ms. Sherry Rehman: Sherry Rehman was, on March 6, 2008, declared re-elected as the top PPP candidate from Sindh on the list for reserved seats for women. She has been a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly of Pakistan (2002-2007) and Central Information Secretary as well as President of Policy Planning for the Pakistan Peoples Party. (it is all there just a click away Mr ‘wannabe’ Joseph Goebbels)
Aftab Sahaab, this is the continuous efforts by weak minded people to distort facts. I saw similar statements in reference to Hina Rabbanni Khar as well here on this site. More these silly writers and posters make statements like this, less credible they become. I say, let them continue making fools of themselves.
Hello Doctor Sahib, I am a chronic optimist as well as a born provocateur and like to believe that by consistent provocaion people like this author might grow up and make better use of this wonderful opportunity for public debate on matters of public interest and greater common good. We’ll get there as long as people like yourself stay right here in this wonderful project of “experimental democracy”.
It is always good to see the glass has half full.
Yes, indeed these forums on the Internet are good for “experimental democracy”. I was reading earlier of a story from China, in reference to the faked pictures of a tiger. Please read this at your leisure:

I really like this quote from the article:
“”When the wisdom of the people stripped away the emperor’s new clothes, the officials lied and used bureaucracy to keep the truth from coming out.”
“Whoever” Aftab, May I know from which constituency this women was elected? People coming in on the reserved seats are not elected, they are selected.
Mr Mugsi, I like the retort!
Following is directly from the Constitution of Pakistan. If I may raise your attention to Para (4) it begins with : “For the purpose of election to the National Assembly”, the term used herin is “purpose of election” and not what you have, somehow, managed understand as ’selection’!
In case you fail to comprehend the following text, you might want to ask your annoymous ‘friend’ to explain who provided you access to the ‘Governor House’ run at the cost of our money and let you enjoy the FĂȘte there also financed by us the poor and deprived of the land.
“The composition of the National Assembly is specified in Article 51[1] of the Constitution of Pakistan. There are a total of 342 seats in the National Assembly. Of these, 272 are filled by direct elections. In addition, the Pakistani Constitution reserves 10 seats for religious minorities and 60 seats for women, to be filled by proportional representation among parties with more than 5% of the vote. As of 2006, there are 72 women members in the Assembly.
][(4)
For the purpose of election to the National Assembly,-
(a)the constituencies for the general seats shall be single member territorial constituencies and the members to fill such seats shall be elected by direct and free vote in accordance with law;
(b)each Province shall be a single constituency for all;
(c)the constituency for all seats reserved for non-Muslims shall be the whole country;
(d)members to the seats reserved for women which are allocated to a Province under clause (1A)
why do u call her un-elected????????? she is elected and doing a very good work in da national assembly. why do u always criticise?? i m not a supporter of PPP at all but this lady is hard working and sincere. lets see da glass half full rather than seeing it half empty.
