Hi Sharafat,
It is racial profiling pure and simple. Also it is a pattern of humiliating INDIAN MUSLIM achievers first so that socalled Indians keep quiet. It started with strip searching our biggest idol ex-president Abdul Kalam who is our foremost Missileman and also exPresident. The Indian NRI (who owe allegiance to USA after signing their oath) lobby immediately came out with following explanations
1.It was a mistake
2.Even US citizens are subjected to this check as every one is equal in USA
3.It was done as his name was selected for Random check.
4.Indian VIPs should know how to accept EQUALITY and they should not whine as USA is the biggest democracy where everyone is equal(except beareded US citizens and hijab wearing US women and ofcourse US citizens with Mohamed,Khan surnames).
None of them came out with explanation why he had a VALID multientry Iris and 10 finger biometric entry visa through which he entered only one month back for shooting a film AND HOW HE was not subjected to this biometric tests.
tHEY WANTED TO KNOW MANY PERSONAL DETAILS WHICH ARE NOT REVEALED SO FAR.
WHAT ARE THEY? THE MEDIA IN INDIA ARE SILENT? WHAT TOOK 2 HOURS?

I am not outraged because he was detained but becuase of the reason being that he has a muslim name. Do people in USA have any idea how many “khans” are there? Probably more than the population of a large US city. What will we think if suddenly people named Miller, Kennedy, John, Scott, Jeff were being detained or because you are of christian or jewish faith? By the way I am a US citiizen and not a muslim, but a hindu and proud to have an Indian heritage.
