Pakistan shares its history and a culture that predates many civilizations with its birth- twin India.  Successive self-serving rulers both military and civil have cunningly infused nationalism with religion. Shallow slogans full of hot air have delivered Pakistan little, while denying its citizens a future that looked bright prior to our voluntary involvement in the Afghan war.

shahid-afridi-girl

We must thank Islamization of Pakistan, and safe houses provided to terrorists who attacked the Sirilanka cricket team for the demise of cricket in Pakistan.  Of course, there is no cricket in Saudi Arabia, so obviously Mullahs do not care. The one sport that could have united us died on the streets of Lahore because of our relgious Mafia.

Through repeated bombings and killings of policemen, military and civilians our “Sharia and Hadood” loving extremist Mullahs and their clones the Taliban have scared away cricketing nations from Pakistan. Through this they have destroyed the livelihood of millions of Pakistanis.

Any other country would have considered this a catastrophe. But in Pakistan one of the sayings is “Kia Faraq  Parttha Hai,”( it does not matter) if they do not come.

Thanks to a decade of Musharaf’s enlightened destruction of Pakistan’s law & order system and encouragement of Mullahs like Fazlulrahaman & MMA in an effort to preserve his rule, the people of Pakistan have become indifferent to, schools being demolished, bombing of Police academies, attacks on military headquarters, hijackings and killings of civilians and generally blame it on India or the Americans.

Our politicians consumed by self-interest are sitting on the fence or inside bulletproof cars, and are unwilling to lead a march against the terrorists and reclaim Pakistan from the clutches of terrorist- thugs hiding behind the veil of religion inside our neighborhoods.

  1. @ Shaukat M Malik

You just proved yourself naive, please refrain from making such a sarcastic statements about Islam, Islam has nothing to do with cricket or ball tempering.

  2. The fact remains that prior to introduction of Sharia laws and our voluntary involvement in Afghanistan to sustain a military dictatorship we were a peace loving country where Muslims were Muslims and there were no Madrassas, Taliban or stick wielding veiled women threatening shopkeepers. We had family planning and happy Pakistanis.
We were simply called Pakistan as our National Anthem confirms. We were not referred to as “The Islamic Republic of Pakistan”
There were no guns and our sisters and mothers could go out unmolested and without fear.
Tourists would visit Pakistan and everyone was happy and fed
Government collected duty on Alcohol and streets were not full of drunks or drug users. Alcohol was consumed by citizens who still consume it today. The only difference is that today our government does not collect any duty.

Cricket tours took on the status of a Melah as is happening in India. While India celebrates IPL agreement with Google we mourn an attack on another girl school by our Sharia loving Taliban.
What is the difference between Mullahs and the Taliban who are playing havoc with Pakistani citizens. Very little. Both want to take us back 1400 years and wish to establish a Saudi style theocracy. But without the oil wealth.

Saudi Arabia and Iran can afford Sharia laws as they have oil and their citizens are not starving. They do not care about tourism or Foreign direct investment needed for job creation. They can get buy on their liquid gold.

  3. Malik Sahib, you are very right and i agree with you 100%….thank you for writing about this !

  4. First of all — Absoulutely Agreed with Mr.Aamir——-Mr.Shakat your thoughts (Relating the whole fiasco to Islamization) are ridiculous to say the least.

Secondly Afridi has apologized (Excuses Or No Excuses become Irrelevant) And HE HAS also been penalized (banned for 2 matches)

Thirdly where were you when Stuart Broad was accused of the same by the South Africans (Chris Broad his Father was the Referee in the same match) –does his act have anything to do with Christianity.

Mike Arthortan was probably the first Player who was caught on the camera tampering with the ball but he remained captain even after that Why because the Britishers thought it was in the best interst of their National Team—I feel the same for Shahid Afridi–he is the best Captain we have had recently (Not Supporting what he did at all)

We have this tendency of criticizing out own people just for the sake of it—-Shah say ziyada shah kay wafadaar.

An intruder (On the cricket Field) almost got one of our players hurt and what you guys are commenting on is Shahid Afridi Ball tempering in a scenario where everyone is accusing us of terrorism–OH SORRY May BE He was Christian and thats why he did that—-Had this thing happened in Pakistan there would have been a lot of hue and cry by the foreigners and their media but WE No we Are the Enlightenly Moderate People why would we care.

  5. Maybe he Afridi was very hungry. I think Pakistan has long history of ball tampering and this incident reinforces that. Steal, Cheat and do anything to win has been Pakistan cricket’s hallmark. I think this incident just undermines Pakistan’s laurels of WorldCup wins as an act of cheating. What examples for children of Pakistan to emulate-Dirty tactics.

  6. The SHIV SENA in India is palying the game of CIA and western white nations . It targets Pakistani players and now Australian players giving handle to ICC that “india is not safe place” Both LET in Pakistan and Shiv sena in India work for western interests through Mullahs of Saudi funded clerics

THEIR AIM IS TO SHIFT THE WHOLE GAME TO U.A.E. so that betting, match fixing in which all ICC and White nations were involved can return.Their next target to distrupt IPL of Modi and his money making machine.
By the way 21% of Indians, 12% of pakistanies and 10% UK based groups have bought DUBAI PROPERTY…These realty investors are the ones who are fuelling terrorism in Pakistan and Shiv sena in India.

  7. @capt

Figment of Imagination. Like a super non-fiction without factual evidences. Can sumone please corroborate the above with clear evidences and not just rhetrics.

  8. captainjohann

Though i respect you a lot…but it seems u are no less a “conspiracy theorist” !!

  9. Mr Aamir:
Are you a commando like Musharaf who is probably enjoying live cricket at Lords. Please excuse Mr. Shiv-wrong for his anger. Mr. Shiv-wrong is upset because nobody in Pakistan will be watching IPL for missing Pakistani stars. Billions of rupees will be lost in advertising revenue due to poor viewing. Pakistan has a population of 170 million.

Why not suggest to PCB to hold training seminars for our future captains.
Sadly when you do not play cricket at home it is almost impossible to develop that fighting spirit lacking among some of our players.
Our players are playing in front of alien crowds who are obviously biased.
Shiv-Sena has threatened the Australian players planning to visit India for the IPL.
If India can provide security to Australians from the Shiv-Senah Why not our players.

  10. @concernedcitizen

LOL…..I’m just an ordinary citizen, not a commando and I hate being associated with Musharaf.

I concur with you regarding “If India can provide security to Australians from the Shiv-Senah Why not our players”, IPL management and Indian Gov’t. are playing dirty game to keep our players out of IPL because they are envious of their (Pakistani players) fame.

I hope Shah Rukh Khan and his family are safe in India from Shiv-Sena terroist.

  11. @aamir & conciti

170 million( or even if it was 270 million) Pakistani never made a diffrenence to 1.2 billion Indians and the rest across the world. The economics of Television viewership or any business means generation of revenue which is far beyond Pakistani corporate institutions . For a 5 hour IPL T20 match SETMAX the official broadcaster gives 90 minutes of air slots. A 15 second air slot in India is estimated at half & quarter million Indian rupees(Source World Sports Group). I am sure you can work out the revenue yourself. India has an average viewership of 20-22 million per match.

Viwership from UK US Africa and Middleast is 10-12 million average permatch. Viewership in Australia and New Zealand is about 1 million. Setmax just sells the broadcasting rights in every region and generates a 100 million dollars(US) every year. These overseas broadcasting rights have been purchased by World Sports Group for a wopping 1.062 billion for 5 years. So IPL organisers again do not suffer financial losses due to boycott of IPL transmission in Pakistan and neither do SETMAX.

Geo Super the Pakistani channel which aired IPL matches last year paid up 15-20 million for broadcasting rights from WSG and may still air it this year. I think the localcable channels have rallied to boycott transmission In Pakistan . Okay. Question is does it make any difference to the IPL or SETMAX Balance Sheet? I can safely say NO.

Oh and IPL have sold rights to You-tube and Google for a figure IPL and its stakeholders are tight lipped about and which is beyond Pakistan’s ability to boycott. So just incase IPL transmission is boycotted in Pakistan anyone can catch its live streaming videos on Google and You Tube. And yea you can watch reruns too.

So dont preconcieve a self attained importance on yourself. Pakistan is just a midget in terms of revenue generation. So do what you can do best flash an AK and run around with grenades to kill innocent civilians. You can just talk, talk and talk but never walk the talk.

  12. World T20 champions lose again in Australia. Can they win atleast 1 match.

  13. Shaffran:
You are correct. I agree with you 100 percent. Pakistan team lost again by 2 runs against Australia.
Pakistanis at home or abroad not watching IPL for lack of interest due no Pakistani players will not affect IPL revenues.
India has separation of Church and State. They do not have Sharia, Hadood, Madrassas, Mullahs and Taliban whipping people into shape in Orakzai.
People can come watch cricket, have a beer relax and create jobs for the locals. Millions of jobs will be created in India because of the IPL plus all the goodwill.
Pakistan must repeal Sharia and Hadood and make Pakistan a secular state like India if we want to see success like India’s.
Pakistan’s founding father had envisaged a separate homeland for Muslims where Muslims could govern themselves and practice their religion freely as is the case in the UNited states and India.
He never wanted a theocratic state.
The KHilafat Movement was against Qaid-e-Azam as they did not agree with his secular views that he shared with Mahtama Ghandi. Both leaders had great respect for each other.
It is a shame that Qaid-e-Azam died so soon after partition and Liaqat was murdered.
If they had been alive, there would have been peace between India and Paksitan and we would have solved our problems and played a lot of cricket.
Good luck with your IPL Mr. Shaffron
