Huge majority wants to talk with the Taliban”…..please substantiate, can you give me some numbers to substantiate your claims or will you just keep on blabbering !

Shahbaz Sharif might be a good administrator, but he is no politician. In fact, he is giving a hard time to his brother Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif jurisdiction is restricted to North Punjab only but in public he always talks about the whole Pakistan. Same is the case with Altaf Hussain, his MQM is restricted to South Sind, but Altaf Hussain statements always reflect the national issues. If Sharif borthers are vouching to sweep the election through the courtesy of ISI as the past record tells, they are very badly mistaken. This will never happen again. Things are changed in the international arena.

It is not the media hype against Shahbaz Sharif’s statement which is considered serious. Media has its limitations. (Every second day there is a prediction of ouster of PPP or Zardari for sure but it is not to be). It is the popular leadership of smaller provinces that are lashing out on Sharif junior mis-statement and that is to be taken seriously. It is high time that Nawaz Sharif should make inroads into smaller provinces otherwise be happy with Punjab votes only. If they keep on waiting that judiciary would do something good for them by eliminating PPP top leadership, I think it is a wishful thinking. Vote bank does not change by only criticizing PPP from Lahore. Come down, do something for smaller provinces, give them assurance, hope, your plan for their betterment. Time is short Brothers, you have to go a long way. Wow! I have given my brotherly advice to Sharif brothers free of cost.

The Punjab chief minister’s unusual appeal to the Taliban, asking them to spare Punjab has, quite predictably stirred up a storm. Shahbaz has had to offer up an explanation and, according to reports, has received a rebuke from the army chief during an unscheduled meeting. It seems apparent that Shahbaz’s explanation of the media contorting his comments has not convinced too many. Certainly he has blundered. His unusually and exceptionally inappropriate remarks suggesting that Punjab was opposed to drone attacks against Taliban targets and that they should thus avoid targeting the province lays down a narrow, rather ugly, parochial vision. We need to build a sense of unity that causes people in Punjab to be left disturbed when there is a blast in Peshawar or Karachi or Mingora.

I think the media is being negative and they are actually giving CM a hard time. One thing we all realize that we can not really negotiate with the terrorists and it is a do or die situation for the safe future of Pakistan. The militants have to GO! But media giving these statements so much hype is an encouraging factor to them.

The severe public backlash is because the public is no longer interested with anyone who has a soft corner for Taliban, we should not reason or logic with such militants, the only answer to their atrocities is equally brutal force. We have achieved a lot in this war and we must not abandon this battle at this critical juncture.
