Shahbaz Sharif and Salman Taseer

By Rohail Butt • Apr 3rd, 2009 • Category: Politics • 2 Comments

It is now the mood of optimism that follows the reinstatement of Shahbaz Sharif as the chief minister of Punjab. Everyone now is expecting that now a new, brighter chapter will open in the lives of people in the Punjab province. Especially people are expecting to get back their cheap roti and they are also expecting improved healthcare and law order situation.

But surely there is one person who is not happy with the whole saga. He never believed that this would happen.  He has assured his master that there will be the government of PPP within 24 hours of Shahbaz Sharif ineligibility and who  has changed the whole bureaucracy of Punjab on the whims of PML(Q). Salman Taseer, the governor of the Punjab seems to have made it clear that he does not quite go along with the general mood of happy aura in the province. He is still waiting for his moment to strike back against the Shahbaz government. Astonishingly enough he is still trusted by Zardari.

Where Shahbaz Sharif has to face many Everst challenges, he has also got to watch his back and sooner he gets rid of Salman Taseer, the better for him and the better for Punjab and best for the democracy in Pakistan.
