Screening of Pakistanis at US Airports

By Umer Toor • Jan 20th, 2010 • Category: Politics • 5 Comments

To be honest, we need to let go of hypocrisy and accept the realities. We are beggars and so are not choosers. We yearn for the US aid, and we are dying to get the US visa. We are ready to do anything to get the green card. We dream to study in US universities and do job of any kind in the land of America.

I have been to America for sometimes and I know that they check the green passport with meticulous scrutiny. But I also know that whenever I pass through the Pakistani airports I go through hell. One reaches to the plane or one gets out of the airport after going through lots of scanner, frisking, manual search, manhandling and sniffing and staring and even sometimes lots of suspicion.

I believe that it’s right of America to secure its public from the terrorists. They do it professionaly and we have to accept that most of the terrorists go to US from Pakistan, Yemen, KSA, Nigeria  and so their passport holders are subjected to special scrutiny.

If we are so worried and anxious about our self-esteem, firstly we said no to the US aid and ask Richard Holbrooke to get out, and also hit a drone in Waziristan.

  1. Hi Toor,
I agree completely with your last para. Pakistan must come out of begging bowl syndrome and show its independence or accept beggars not choosers spot.

  2. USA still treat Pakistan as friendly country but there is a limit of every thing. Green or Blue Passport all go through the same process. Whats the worry if you are clean no one will touch you but if you are Criminal you must pay the price. We need to control our entry and EXIT point as USA will do the same for its countryJust wait few weeks when all the major Airports will be able to see your balls too>??

  3. its unfortunate is all I can say. But this is due to the growing militancy in our country. What can one expect? We have been the most deadly country last year. Over 500 attacks took place last year from which almost 100 were suicide. We must speak against this militancy in case to revive our image.

  4. Dear,
I am agreed with your last paragraph totally,

  5. agreed. but does a pakistani goes for the aid. its our govt which need aid on the name poor people to increase their bank balances and estate within country and abroad.
