Sarki Lawagher of Karak: A Den of Kidnappers

By Haris Hashmi • Feb 13th, 2010 • Category: Politics • No Responses

Most of the people who get kidnapped from Punjab and NWFP end up in the sorrounding hills of Karak area, an area which is still very remote and obscure, though it borders with the restive FATA area and is just adjacent to the troubled Bannu, Kohat, Hangu and Lakki Marwat belt.

It is a matter of act that in the upper areas of Sarki Lawagher there are dens of a number of groups of kidnappers. Villagers of the area have alleged that the kidnappers are local people and are involved in the crime in connivance with the police.

One of the income modes of Taliban terrorists is ransom from the kidnapping. There is every possibility that these kidnappers are working in the supervision and protection of the Taliban and providing them the needed money. It is high time that a crackdown should be carried out in the suburbs of Karak.
