Review - CasaHamza Studio Launch: A Life Extraordinary!
By The Partylicious • Jul 15th, 2009 • Category: Entertainment • One Response
Creativity, style, luxury, art, passion and sophistication were on display last week as Lahore witnessed the grand launch of Hamza Tarar’s flagship studio in Pakistan: CasaHamza on July 8. After a long time, and a string of some good, some average, and some downright dismal events that we have attended this summer, there was something really exquisite to look forward to as the who’s who of Lahore thronged to an exclusive viewing of Hamza’s studio at 14-XX, DHA.

Entrance to the Launch
Verve Events led by the dynamic duo of Imtisal Zafar and Arsalan Khan were at the helm of this launch. While we have honestly never been disappointed to date when it comes to Verve, what really made us appreciate the efforts they put in was the mere fact that everything was brought together in barely two days time! Yes, it was over Sunday night that we came to know about the CasaHamza launch taking place the coming Wednesday. To pull it off with sheer grandeur and class as Launch de CasaHamza was deserves our appreciation!
Around 9:30 pm as we entered the enclosure built outside the studio, we were immediately taken aback by the sheer brilliance of how the color white was affluently spread all around the location. Serene, delicate, and exuding a sense of stylish composure, the backdrops merged amazing well with their respective foregrounds giving not just the place but the people an elegant glow. The weather was humid as is the hallmark of a typical Lahori summer but while the guests that night mingled and interacted together awaiting the opening, an opulent array of appetizers and finger foods, including sushi and caviar bites along with servings of champagne, courtesy of Tiramisu helped set the right mood for the audience.
The studio’s entrance was draped by a large white cloth that aimed to serve as a veil as well as a projection screen where a short presentation introducing CasaHamza was set to take place. This would be immediately followed by the veil falling down and bringing to view the brilliance of Hamza Tarar to the audience. Why are we telling you all this with such a monotone disposition is because before the presentation could begin, nature intervened with a powerful dust storm that made everyone decide not to wait out in the open any longer. The veil was dropped down prematurely but only to reveal the beauty it concealed.
Shimmering, glittering, and spell-binding, the art gallery with works displayed by Alex Turco and chandeliers by Swarovski gave a warm welcome to the onlookers on the ground floor. The harmonious symbiosis between art and design as reflected in the works of Alex Turco truly was impressive and grandiose to witness! We instantly fell in love with the crystal chandelier hanging in the middle of the floor that gave the feel as if someone had just flung hundreds of these crystals up in the air only to have them frozen in time suspended in an eternal state of their flight or fall! Simply marvelous! It was this very eye-candy that we had been seeing from a distance for a few days every time we had driven by the studio during its furnishing days last week. To be seeing it up close and personal was truly amazing! Once again white was the dominant theme on this floor too with the man of the moment, Hamza Tarar himself synergizing with the color in his white suit and flowing around.

The first floor was dedicated to works and collection by Versace; exuberant and vibrant with bold and vivacious colors that made home instantly in our eyes with the first glance, the Versace line of home collections focused on detail. Here the sense of having a classic as well as modern feel to your every room was taken and integrated well together in a contemporary mix.

Ubab Mamin and Ikram Khalid
The second and third floor consisted of designs by Fendi and Kenzo Maison respectively along with Dolce and Gabbana by Kartell. Fendi’s collection not only reflected on designs from the past but also gave due space to the future and brought the two together amazingly well in intricate detail. The Kenzo Maison line ran along the floral art and embossed or raised leathers that oozed with a sense of royalty and high end designs. Dolce and Gabbana by Kartell, one of the leaders in fashion and luxury goods combining technical innovation with cutting edge aesthetics, was on display with designs from Longhi and Vitra. While we would have loved to take snaps of these floors too, it was not allowed and so we would only have words to tell you the sheer brilliance and sensual appeal of the items on display. In case you have missed out on the launch, you must make your way to the studio at the earliest to see it for yourself. Buy or no buy, it’s an exotic treat on its own to walk through the floors and see the classiest of stuff sprawled across.

Elegantly dressed in silver gowns and with warm smiles were assistants helping the guests on each floor; apprising them of the history, origin, make, as well as the details of each piece on display. Let us mention two names here that have been behind the efforts in making such style statements with these ladies. Ikram Khalid, an energetic and creative PSFD graduate and a Lux Style Awards Scholarship winner was the one responsible for dressing the ladies up for the night in those amazing gowns! Sundas of the recently launched Sunuba Spa on MM Alam road gave the finishing touch to the girls with their makeup. While the studio spoke volumes of Hamza Tarar’s own work and his exemplary taste in stylish interiors, the girls, dressed to impress, added the icing on the cake for this launch as they moved along the floors. Two really talented individuals that Ikram and Sundas are, you’d be seeing more of them on Partylicious hence forth as their talents have surely put them in our radars!
What Hamza Tarar has brought to Lahore with CasaHamza is a unique trend that might not be for everyone but for those who have a sweet tooth for designing living and exquisite art; his flagship luxury studio is the place to be at. While moving around his studio, it was clearly visible that Hamza had managed to bring home to Pakistan a global contemporary lifestyle that is a class of its own. It is here now and it is definitely here to stay!
