Rehman Malik Failed to Mold Nation’s Approach
By Farid Masood • Oct 18th, 2008 • Category: Politics • No ResponsesThis prevailing war on terror is so-called war on terror and it’s not our war. This is the thinking and approach of majority of Pakistani nation. If we talk about in percentage, it becomes more than the vote taken in elections by President Zardari.
Government officials including interior advisor to the Prime Minister Mr Rehman Malik, time and again stated the interpretation of this ambiguous term “War-on-Terror” in their own approach, which is almost 180 degrees of nation’s approach.
Most of the nation think that this is “War of Interest” or War by the Terror”, and our government has lost four of its six senses (listening (not hearing), speaking, power of sight and getting feedback from Nation to amend policies).
At nation’s stance suicide bomber and drone attacks are the same phenomenon, because in both the events innocent people are being killed. Both are the aggression against the ‘Writ of the State”, Tribal people are mostly peace loving people (they proved it by standing against terrorists and spies of different secret services. There is a thinking developed that apart from over-cover so-called war on terror there are under-cover interest in that piece of land at Pakistani Western border.
So interior machinery has failed to stop both the actions (suicide bombing and drone / ground attacks) challenging “Writ of the State”. A government failing to provide food and security (basic rights) to its own people cannot maintain the “Rule of Law” within the country.
One or two statement a day cannot fool the nation. Nation has awakened before February elections and watching the whole scene with patience and vision.
