Reconciliation with Taliban
By Haris Hashmi • Jan 27th, 2010 • Category: Politics • 14 CommentsWhile America is pushing more and more troops in Afghanistan and its generals are admitting defeat, the local Afghan leaders like Hamid Karzai are rising upto the reality that the only way for the peace is by talking to the Taliban. It an open reality that America is not winning this war, civilian casualities are increasing, Taliban are gaining strength and US is shooting in the dark.
Not only the Afghanistan is gettting the blows, the whole region is in the grip of uncertainty and chaos. That is why the Kabul administration is campaigning in the world capitals to have chat with the Taliban. Pakistanis are supporting this stance, and even US is now listening to this suggestion. The negotiations between US and Taliban is the need of the hour.
In fact the role of Karzai regime is very limited and negligible. The thing is that this is the war of power. America has to acknowledge that Taliban rule most of the Afghanistan and Karzai government is only limted to Kabul and ISAF forces are only in their bunkers. America has to talk to Taliban sooner than later.
The role of Pakistan is key. Pakistan is also at war with Taliban, and the so-called Pakistani Taliban are only terrorizing the country. The situation of Afghanistan is different and it’s about freedom now. Pakistan has to coordinate between Americans and Afghan Taliban.

deafeat is imperative to the Taliban. Negotiations have been tried earlier and we all witnessed a failure. Defeating them completing is the only option for peace to prevail in Pakistan.
What if US/ NATO steps out of the war? We all know that it is very difficult (not difficult, but almost impossible) to defeat Taliban in Afghanistan. Players from US/ NATO/ Pakistan have just realized that.
It is absolutely certain that they have put their hands in the honey bee’s hive. Now either they have to fight them forever (which Taliban will easily accept, as they have a history), or face them in their own homelands. I think Pakistan will be the first where they will strike. Other countries will have to wait a bit for their turn.
We have to accept that we have made a grave mistake when we sided with the US in 2001. US has neither been a good friend nor a good enemy of any country. They can’t do anything against North Korea, Syria, Iran and Venezuela.
Siding Taliban at that time could mean that we were siding reliable people at least, who took a firm stance for their guests (aka Osama & Co.), and fought with the super power. These guys are considered to be best friends as well as worst enemies when they start war.

Being a student of International Law & Political Science in simple words ask a straight question to these two giants Russia & America — In the eyes of Taliban or Alqaida Group — Is this your valuable or with some weight-age object whether you remove of former Taliban Members from U.N. terrorism list or remain kept in the same list as stand still?
Taliban & Alqaida have been enjoying with your already enhanced such Stupid & with full of Funny Stance or Statements believe me I predicted seven/eight years ago in a South Asia Tribune Washington DC based Internet Political Magazine of Shaheen Shabai when America & Brits were trying to enter into Iraq on behalf of Israeli Lobby Freemasons/Neocons — with crystal words that Muslims are not like Germans or like Japanese they would have never been Bow Down moreover in detailed try to explain before Indians, Israelis & others Westerners who later on made fun of me anyway as explained to them as followed:
“You Dumb & Duffer Typical Westerners’ Big Contracts & Occupied Approach Holders — You do not know the peculiar nature of the Muslims they may get Die but never be like to live as a Subordinate Nation” — “This would become another Vietnam as they are Orthodox Muslims this would be bigger & larger Disaster for you moreover such these Wars have already been incorporated in the Holy books of the Muslims.”

Some believe that US is in Afghanistan to stabilize the region while some argue that they are there to help the people others opine that they are here for their own sinister interests BUT then there are also a very few who understand the nature and true purpose of their presence. In my opinion we all need a refresher of history,geography and prophetic sciences and the mind to understand it as well. For some reason it all fits in if you understand it.

Let fashion be fashion! YLH I do agree with your analysis but the point was not intended @ the models, it was directed at the consumers and their taste of fashion does reflect the Pakistani society per say. That said modernity and secularism cannot be deduced by what one wears.

Before initiating any peace deal we must recall what havoc such forces have played in Pakistan, they destroyed our schools, bombed our mosques and brainwashed innocent children. Any talks can take place after lay down their arms or else face the music.

Thanks for your quite an innocent analysis. I am not siding any force here, but can you justify the US/ NATO war crimes in Iraq, Afghanistan and other Muslim countries, when they bombed schools, buildings, houses with innocent civilian presence? We should all see the same hatred against the invaders in your words.
Unfortunate for you, US/ NATO is ready to put down the arms as they do not want to ‘face the music’ played by the Taliban.
