Rangers in Karachi
By Dr. Hassan Isfahani • Feb 3rd, 2010 • Category: Politics • One ResponseTarget killing in Karachi is going on while the coalition partners in the Sindh government are bashing and then forgiving each other. Common poor people are dying on the roads by unidentified marksmen, and yet the authorities are dumbfounded and silent.
Under Anti-Terrorism Act, the Sindh Government has given Rangers complete control for establishing peace in Karachi where exhibition of weapons has been banned through imposition of section-144 following dozens of killings in violent incidents.
Will the rangers be able to stop these target killings? MQM, PPP, ANP, and other factions are involved in these killings but the media is silent over this issue and the police is mere spectator. Political clout is providing cover to the killers. If political influence will carry on in Karachi over protecting the target killers, even army will fail to accomplish anything.

The army is not trained to be law enforcers they are trained to kill. So if it comes to that then I guess the army will come in and restore the law and order but then again a lot of people mostly again innocent will get killed and then the same blame game will follow in the years to come.
I honestly believe that our politicians do not have the brains to do politics. Their interests are only served if corruption is rampant during which they can grab money. In their thinking it can lead them into the next “world”.
Here it depends what their understanding of the next world is ; US,UK,SWISS or HELL.
