Rana Sanaullah’s Nexus with Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan
By Umer Toor • Mar 9th, 2010 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 16 CommentsThere are some occasions when we must rise above the political and personal differences. There are some issues which need immediate attention from the leaders and the masses. The alleged links between the law minister of Punjab Rana Sanaullah with the banned religious outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) is one of those burning issue.
In the recent years, Pakistan has seen worst of the terrorism. We all know how the terrorism tastes. We all have recoiled in terror many a times after hearing bomb blast in our own city or coming to know about yet another suicide attack in our country. Though the suicide bombing streak is at ease these days with intermittent attacks in remote areas, still the images of these bombings are vivid as not much time has passed. Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Islambaad, Peshawar and Quetta and almost all other notable cities and towns have gone through this terrible terrorism.
We also remember the sectarian violence between Shia and Sunni outfits in the eighties and nineties. No mosque or Imambargah was safe in those days. Target killings, grenade hurlings and bombings became order of the day and authorities were hapless. Thankfully that was ended when sanity prevailed, and some outfits from both sides were banned. SSP one of these banned organization.
Now there is a by-election in the sensitive Jhang area, and to gain political advantage, Rana Sanaullah the law minister of Punjab done a favor to the SSP. The latest scandal against Rana Sanaullah about his links with terrorists followed by the release of two convicted terrorists of the SSP ahead of the by-elections in district Jhang, has further eroded the credibility of Shahbaz Sharif and his claims about good governance in the province.
This matter must be resolved immediately as it is sending very wrong messages both at the national and international levels and needed to be snubbed before such kind of acts could lead to revival of sectarian violence, which had greatly disturbed the whole province in the mid 80s and 90s.

Yesterday the News Pakistan confirmed that Dr. Aafia Sidiaqui was/is married to KSM’s nephew and visited Pakistan in 2008. She is an Al-Qaeda operative who was picked up in Afghanistan along with her son.
She is a crazy women. Our Mullahs and Taliban supporters were quickly exploiting DR Sidiqqie for their own political ends. An Al-Qaeda operative suddenly becomes the daughter of the nation because she is wearing the Hijab and attacked American interviewers. She had also opened mail boxes for an arrested terrorist in Maryland.
PML N and Jamaat-e-Tabahi -Islami- have refused to condemn the Taliban or support our brave soldiers who are under attack by the Taliban trained by our Mullahs in our Madrassas. Every Taliban takes the name of a Maulvi.
PML N and Jamaat-E-Islami must decide whether they are with our brave soldiers or with the enemies of Pakistan the murderous Taliban.
We must ban and lock up all members of Sipah a Sahaba and Lashakar-e-TAbahee and put them in Nullah-Clean up fatigue camp.
I would start with having them clean all the dirty Nullahs of Lahore and Rawalpindi. We could use their fervor and temper by cleaning our inner cities.
It is a sad truth that religion has been used by politicians for centuries, albeit with disastrous results. In the modern world, political Islam has taken centrestage, and has caused pain, death and destruction across the globe.
The idea that religion is one’s personal business, and should be limited to his home is indeed, a great one! Christianity learnt about it in the middle ages, Hinduism continues to learn, but alas, Islam has consistently ignored it.
Is it because of an unwillingness on the part of Islam to revise its texts? Or is it based on fear of revenge by extremists?
As long as politics is not removed from Islam, its texts rewritten to remove political and violent content, the situation will continue to be bad!
I agree with Rajiv he is right but nobody overcome it
I’ve always said Punjabis are the root cause of the problem. Punjabi public are idiots and their leaders are bigots who lead them by the nose.
Wake up, Punjab (as if that’s ever going to happen)

Responding Rajiv:
Terrorism in this part of the world is not religious fanaticism. It is a well established industry in Afghanistan and unfortunately in Pakistan due courtesy of Musharraf regime. The unseen vested interests of the world hire these suicide bombers on payment of big doughs. Millions and even billions of dollars change hands in this well flourished industry. Period. However, presence of Western military forces on muslim lands has eased the job of terrorism trainers who do not have to make so much of a efforts to brain wash the adolescent pukhtoons and prepare them for suicide bombing. This has got nothing to do with religious friction. Take the event that has been described by the bloggers. The notorious terrorists of Sipah-e-Sahaba have not been let loose for killing of shias but to harass them in the forthcoming bye-election.
What about your country, killing of 500 muslims in a day in Bombay by Shiv Sena gave birth to Dawood Ibrahim.
well said. Al-Qaeda operative suddenly has the sympathies of the entire nation and becomes a daughter of Pakistan. What about the thousand of women who are raped, tortured and treated in the worst manner within the jail cells of Pakistan. Cant people lime light this? We must end our double standards and this mean hypocrisy!
Islam is not the problem never has been and never will be, anti Islam lobbies have been and continue to be the problem. Agitation, Sabotage, Espionage, Manipulation and Blame, despite this Islam remains intact and continues to attract searchers of truth.
The reason why we lack credibility as a nation is because we look for short term goals. One political party is trying to manipulate the circumstances in their favor. The banned SSP was a major player in the sectarian violence that engulfed Punjab in the 90’s. I wonder why we don’t learn from history. History DOES repeat itself quite often with us.
The yesterday’s Lahore attack should be an eye-opener for the government on Punjab, who has gone soft of religious extremism for electoral gains. PML-N should recall the NA-55 elections where the Taliban sympathizers failed to secure 5% of the total votes casted. The reported romance with the notorious sectarian outfit can back fire!
@Khalid Humayun
Afghan Jihad is well documented. It may have happened in Afghanistan, but the world very well knows it was started by USA and Pakistan. So Pakistan has to carry blame along with US for the condition of Afghanistan today, not Afghanistan!
Why should the presence of “Kufar” soldiers in muslim lands piss off muslims???? After all, Saudi Arabia, the keeper of the holiest places in Islam, invited us Kufars, infidels and idolators to “defend” the muslim land from Iraq, another muslim land!!!!
This whole talk about muslim land by you, proves that in countries where Islam is the dominant religion, other religions cannot live in peace!
My country has made mistakes - I accept. The Shiv sena is losing its supporters by the day. A few years ago, it even lost power in the state where it ruled.
But the Hindu dislike for Islam is rooted in the 1000 yr history that muslims invaded Hindu India (Hindu India included Pakistan and Afghanistan), destroyed temples and killed in thousands and looted. This history is also documented by muslim invaders themselves.
The difference is, Hindus have evolved. Another riot against muslims will never happen in Bombay. Another masjid will never be demolished in India. Unless muslims bring it upon themselves.
But muslims, even in India, are going backwards. They want separate personal laws today, they would want shariah tomorrow? They have become more intolerant, more spuerstitious and more misguided, thanks to wahabbi islam being brought in from saudi arabia.
@MALIK1
I’m not anti-muslim. Muslims are as good or better people as I believe Hindus are. I’m against those parts of Islam that are problematic (also against some parts in Hinduism) - such as oppression of women, unequal rights for muslims and non muslims, supersititions, claims that islam is the best religion, using violence to make islam the dominating religion in the world and blindly following the koran.
Are muslims open to rewrite the koran? are they willing to throw away the hadees? are they willing to give up madrasas and mullahs and take up scientific education?
Hindus are doing all of this - we have thrown away books that preach hatred (Like Manusmriti), we no longer study outdated scriptures, we get minimal religious education and almost every school going kid in India (except muslim kids that go to madrassas) gets scientific education and unbiased world view!

Rebuttal to Rajiv:
To some extent I do agree with you Rajiv. The misery we are suffering from is due our own blunders. It is true that we are entangled in blame game while your country is marching ahead. But let me tell you loud and clear, the moment we come out of this, we will patch up the progress gap within no time, we are fast and we are energetic.
About Afghanistan, the difference between Pakistan and Afghanistan is ours and WE will mend it. Afghanistan is our neighbor and no matter how much moral and financial support you give to them, one day they would be standing hand in hand with us. All your inductions to them would be wasted, that is for sure. We want to be good neighbors with you, this is the only option left. So, let us make progress together and not allow foreign forces to poke their noses in our matters.
Regards
I just hope that everything happenning worng gets fixed as soon as possible, We pray for a prosprouse Pakistan

salam:-
it is a miserable situation here, which is created just becoz of negative propaganda by Media, which is ruled mainly by a sect “SHIYA” :- Sipah-e-Sahaba (Rz.A) Pakistan was established immediately after grouping and establishing of ” TEHREEK-E-NIFAAZ-E-FIQAH JAFRIYA”. This Sunni State was becoming Shiya State by militancy of some Militants , who came from Iran just after KHUMENI (malooni) Inqelaab. Alhamdulillah, Sipah opposed their shameful activities and remind Sunnis that whoever Laments and insults our SAHABA KARAAM is not a Muslim, or a worst KAafir.
