I agree with Nazia and Maria. The other day, my colleague who is currently working on water management in Sindh informed me that the actual problem in Sindh is inequitable water distribution. The landlords takes much of the water thru direct or illegal or tampered outlets leaving the tail-end small farmers thirsty for drops who in return either curse Punjab for stealing their water or praying God for rainfall. The officals have no proper data for actual distribution and allocation and are unable to improve water distribution due to several reasons. I suggest that computerized-based water distribution and allocation system shall be immediately installed in all irrigation offices so that a common man, media and water users can have access to it. This is the only way to publicize the official water allocation data and compare it with the actual practices in the area.

I am sure there is no shortage of water, and just like electricity, water management is also corrupt and visionless resulting in this crisis.

Extreme mismangement in water storage areas and its distribution system and extraordianry corruption of influential landlords with full cooperation of officials of irrigation departments are contributing more to aggravate this problem.
Pakistan is one of country having largest natural gravity flow irrigation system and is directly supported by appropriate weather conditions. This man- designed corruption is directly leading us toward natural disasters of fusion of sea water towards one of best fertile lands of Pakistan lying in thatta and badeen district. In this belt we can have all kinds of major crops, vegetables and fruits in all four seasons due to its natural fertility level and moderate weather conditions.
But all is going wasted under corrupt sindh irrigation department in which from officers level to men on their specific pumping station of water courses are making huge money on wrong distribution of water reserves to influential people of interior sindh and southern Punjab too. Those people who are looked complaining of wrong distribution of water resources or blaming India in our assemblies are actual culprits or water thieves.if some daring judge will try to hit these water thieves then it would nt take longer time to highlight these feuds as we recently saw that how our elite class in chak shezad farms are stealing power along with corrupt officers of Iesco.
