PTCL Employees Protests : Fire Them

By Rohail Butt • Jul 16th, 2008 • Category: Politics • No Responses

Along with the WAPDA, SNGPL and other state and semi-state service providers, Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation Limited (PTCL) has contributed a lot in adding to the miseries of the common people of Pakistan in the name of the service. The exorbitant and error billing, dismal service and rogue and unwilling-to-work workers of PTCL have given lots of grief to the people of Pakistan, and as even PTCL has been managed by some foreign outfit, these employees refuse to change their slothful behavior.

Now the adhoc workers of PTCL are protesting against the new pay structure. Their protest  is meaningless, as the PTCL administration has given the option to these employees to either adopt the new pay structure or go with the previous one. But these employees want to have their own say, and they want to dictate their own terms to the new administration, which want to bring in some sort of efficiency in this white elephant.

What the new administration of the PTCL should do is to just fire these protesting elements and hire new lot, as millions of educated, skilled and willing workers are just awaiting round the corner.
